I think if everything goes right the order will be huge. NG spotted the opportunity at the right time. All the three service are going to issue RFI in a year or so and their will be a purchase of around 1000 UAVs of different kind (MALE, HALE, MAV). IA will be placing orders for around 500 UAVs. Indian forces have not yet purchased a HALE and with a very good domestic MALE UAV (Rustom) program going on, i think forces might go for HALE UAVs.

I doubt we can use this uav to fire weapons. If we need UAV for that purpose then i think we should opt for European UAVs. Their are 3-4 UAVs coming up. We can even become part of EADS Talarion project as they are not getting any funding and also it will take a couple years for it to get operational and so we can also learn from this project use it for Rustom....

I hope IA and IA goes for turbofan based Avenger. Its really hot and cost arround 10-14 million $ per unit.....

Yes but we don't need world spanning satellite network. Right now we have been given access to GLOSNASS, we can make use of that till our own network gets ready which i think will be ready by 2015.

It is offered by an US company, not requested by Indians. Indians will take the final call depending on how expensive it is and whether it fits our purpose.
And yes pakistan can buy whatever it wants.

we should buy this UAV. US tech is high class. but i am concerned about possible strings. if there are no strings only then we should buy this UAV.

we are already developing a drone capable of carrying weapons jointly with Russia. global hawk will supplement it.

Actually there is a HUGE difference between India and Pakistan in terms of weapons procurements from US. Firstly the fact is senators and congressmen in charge of foreign military sales have lost a lot of patience with Pakistan as it is buying millions of $$$ of military kit to be "used in WOT" but is utterly useless in such circumstances. Secondly the fact is these drones would be bought with US military aid and even you would have a hard time justifying a MARITIME drone to be used against AQ and as of now, under domestic and Indian pressure, US has only offered their most basic drones to Pakistan and I don't think the situation will change in the future. In fact it looks like it will get much worse.

I highly doubt this....you are publicly calling them your worst enemy and they are thinking of withdrawing funds.
