Mean while we should fast pace the Rustoms.
If DRDO is unable to demonstrate satisfactory progress on Rustom after 2 years from now...then only we should talk to US for these.

Yeah they planned specifically because they can be interfaced with P-8I.

Rustom can be developed in the same line e.g interface. Let us first absorb p-8I, evaluate our requirement after that.
This absorption will take couple of years and by that time IF DRDO can not deliver Rustom....
If US can sell today...then can sell tomorrow ...and with "I" as suffix.

You make some valid points but you have made a key mistake that we see all to often with Pakistani members- you have assumed India is like Pakistan and they are the same, they are NOT the same and the US can't dominate or dictate to India like it can to others and both India and the US know this.
