Any note on the specifications/tonnage/armament ?

The 50 meter indigenous IPV, when completed will displace 300 tonnes and can achieve a maximum speed of 34 knots, with an endurance of 1500 nautical miles at an economical speed of 16 knots.

Title is misleading .

This IPV is meant for Indian coast guard not Indian Navy.

Inland patrol vessel for coast guard launched at GRSE

The last in the series of the eight water-jet propelled Inshore Patrol Vessels (IPV) built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE) for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) was launched at GRSE's Rajabagan Dockyard here today. Conforming to maritime traditions of a ship launched by Jaishree Pande, wife of Commander Coast Guard K C Pande (North East), 'Rajdhwaj' (meaning 'Royal Colours'), the proposed name of the ship, was launched. Also present at the launch were GRSE CMD Rear Admiral AK Verma, IG KC Pande and other senior ICG, GRSE officials and ship building workers. The ship will be fitted out at Rajabagan Dockyard and delivered to ICG after trials. These ships are an improved version of Fast Attack Craft earlier built by GRSE for Indian Navy, with an efficient hull form developed in-house after extensive model testing to achieve speed in excess of 34 knots. All previous seven IPVs were also launched by GRSE from the same yard. By adopting integrated construction technology, GRSE has been successful in reducing the build period of all ships. The keel of 'Rajdhwaj' was laid on January 24, last year. This series of IPV has opened a new vista for production line at GRSE with marked departure from earlier series so far as reduction in build period is concerned.

The outfit is fully geared up to meet the demand of this type of ships from Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard with an approximate build period of 14 to 17 months.
