U.S selling India F-35C is slim to none, but selling them 3 or 4 E-2C/D I can see.

I disagree with it.
I have heard indian military has discussed with US about the induction of F-35C officially ,cause MIG-29K would be obsolete very soon.
There are no better choice on the table other than F-35C which was designed to be launched form EMALS .

F35 is not some alien technology.

because we just wouldn't. would you trust India with your most advanced stealth fighter?? a country that you sanctioned over it's nuclear weapons program, and is a very close ally to Russia?? I even think it's a bad idea we are allowing Israel and Turkey to have access to the F-35.

then it comes down to cost and maintaining the F-35 which means sending them to the U.S to be worked on. I just don't see India going through these hoops for the F-35

a navalized PAk-FA is a real possibility with EMALS, so I would go for that.

Just a fun. I am pretty sure India could build its own CBG and it has built that so far.

I don't think Israel assisted us, I think we copied, reverse and studied whatever we could out of the Lavi program, check out the design flaws etc and improve whatever we can. Israel assisting us would require us to pay them, there is a big difference.

The same for Kamov, don't think we need to pay, we can just study those assets already in service with us. =)

Some countries would pay hard earned cash while their people starved, and expect people to spoon feed them, in the end they don't learn the core technology. Reverse engineering is an art.

Buying EMALS from USA is the prelude to go for F35c. Wait and see. Indians have been very disappointed with T50's development, they can't bet all the stakes in T50.

I believe they would be american lapdogs just like how Japan and Koreans are. Depending on foreign assets shows their desperation due to their inability to develop indigenous systems. They will buy the F35 and after that, they gonna get fleeced royally with American rates instead of Russian ones.

Precisely what I said. They is no point paying, when you can copy and study it for free. Notice, how from one study visit to the LAVI program, the Chinis managed to gain so much insight on canard design. You should also include our reference from the Denel Tigers and Apaches.

China is a newcomer in lots of field regarding cutting-edge military tech.
The westerners put an sanction on us of the high tech used by either civil or millitarial fields.
So China has to try any way to improve its capability as soon as possible.

Lavis, Kamovs, Denels, second rated in the 1980s? Btw, we had access to F-16 from Pakistan too. Those were the foundation for us to develop what we have today. That's why you have LCA and we have J20, see the end result?
