This news is bull****. The report says Rahul bhonsle is a army brigadier general. first of all indian army has brigadier rank and not brigadier general. that gives us an idea abt the knowledge of author on indian military affairs. He doesnt even know india army ranks.
secondly, every one knows PAD is a priority area for indian defence establishment. IMHO its another attempt to favour foreign purchases.
i think US will be happy if we disolve entire DRDO..
Its not new. Whenever we develop something US is ready to sell exactly those systems to India. AN/TPS-37, Apache, PAC-3, space cooperation, nuclear technology and even F-35 was offered after India signed FGFA deal!!! But India rejected it.
Yes thats true, initially they were reluctant to part with PAC,once we developed similar capability, now no problem in expanding business, shrewd I must say.

Its not just US but every western country.. Few years back India requested Germany for some non-critical components for its missile program which was in nascent stage then. As expected Germany refused.
After 2-3 years when India had mastered this , Germany offered this tech. out of blue on discounted rate. But this time Indian scientists proposed to sell the same tech to Germans at much lesser cost..
Are you talking about gyros? Than yes, its 100% true. Though gyros are critical component of missile western countries refused it to India initially but thanks to hard work of Indian scientists, we have developed almost all types of gyros including fibre optic and MEMS. Our ballistic missiles are some of the most accurate in the world with single digit accuracy.

G Satheesh Reddy, director, Inertial Systems, at the Research Centre, Imarat, DRDO was another person to receive the 'Agni Award for excellence in self-reliance' from Dr. Singh.
It was conferred on him as a team leader for indigenous development of world class and highly accurate 'Ring Laser Gyro (RLG)-based Inertial navigation and Global Positioning System (RINS).' The system is first of its kind to be developed in the country with position accuracy of one nautical mile per hour.
Sirjee, do not forget our desi Ring Laser gyro (RLG)!
RLG based INS is going to be the backbone of all of india's future missiles and aircrafts.
