The elite Muslim landlords who supported creation of Pakistan were wiser than you. After the crushing defeat in 1937 elections, it became quite apparent in which direction India was going and what will it be post independence - No special treatments and land reforms. That's one of the reasons Hari Singh did not want to join the Indian Union in the first place. Land reforms was one of the first things that happened in independent India and you are still stuck with feudal lords who have quite successfully convinced you to think of India as the boogeyman to keep you in the line.
