'Indian hand can't be ruled out'

The attacks and the training of training of the terrorists is not dissimilar. If anything, the Lahore attacks are more sophisticated in that they have utilized multiple tactics. This particular one involved a suicide bomber in a vehicle packed with explosives, along with men who came out of the vehicle using grenades and small arms to create an opening for the vehicle to get to the target.

In addition the intelligence required to attack at the right time and place if the Colonel was the intended target as Hakimullah Mehsud claimed.

Come on AM

There are differences like Energon says, The big difference that mumbai attack was ment for soft target randomly firing. How much training and preparation is required there?

While the taliban are focusing on a specific target for all out civil war.

Taliban claim responsibility for Lahore attack

LAHORE (AP): The Taliban in Pakistan claimed responsibility Thursday for an attack on police and intelligence agency offices that killed about 30 people, saying it was revenge for the army's current offensive against the militants.

Hakimullah Mehsud, a deputy to Pakistani Taliban chief, Baitullah Mehsud, told The Associated Press in a telephone call that Wednesday's suicide attack in Lahore ``was in response to the Swat operation where innocent people have been killed.''

About 30 people were killed and at least 250 wounded when gunmen fired and lobbed grenades at offices of the police and top intelligence agency then detonated an explosive-laden van.

A little-known group calling itself the Taliban Movement in Punjab has also claimed responsibility for the attack.

The government announced bounties for 21 Taliban leaders in northwestern Pakistan, after blaming militants for Wednesday's assault.

The attack in Pakistan's second-largest city, the capital of the Punjab province, was far from the restive northwest Afghan border region where the Taliban have established strongholds in Swat and other places and have faced a month-old military offensive.

It also was the third deadly assault since March in Lahore, a major intellectual and cultural center in Pakistan, following deadly assaults on the visiting Sri Lankan cricket team and a police academy.

Officials fear militants may be choosing targets there to make the point that nowhere is beyond their reach.

A group calling itself Tehrik-i-Taliban Punjab, or Taliban Movement in Punjab, took the blame for the bombing in a Turkish-language communique posted on Turkish jihadist Web sites Wednesday and referenced the fight in Swat, the SITE Intelligence Group said.

The claim could not be verified, and the militant group's relationship to the Taliban was unclear.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said militants were striking out because they were losing the fight with government forces battling to uproot extremists in the northwestern valley and tribal areas near Afghanistan.

Who is funding and providing weapons to all these terrorists against which we are fighting?

don't tell me that it's ISI which is providing indians rifles and weapons to these terrorists now!

Obviously indians are fully involved in all this and maybe there is also the hand of Israel in all this....we are enemy there is nothing shocking in all this!:agree:

Why don't the Army just bombed also those indian consulates on Pak-Afghan border...also we have the right to do surgical strikes to crush terrorism!!!:smokin:

If you would bother reading the news and what analysts have been saying (not analysts like Zaid Hamid) then you would know that it is the drug money that is funding this jihad. The Taliban have also been collecting this money from looting and kidnapping people. They have support from Afghanistan and jihadi brothers in countries like Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

.
I think we should move on from this blame game coz if you are blaming that means you are weak and could not do somthing about the problem.
The ISI is being targeted in the West and India both by Gov officials and media is specifically their cry of weakness. If you cant deal with your oponents on feild the best way is to bash them in Media and that is specifically what Gorgian President Mikhail Saakashvili did when the Russian Forces Entered their Country. This is the reason why US is so carefull even knowing the fact that Iranian agents are creating Hovoc for them in Iraq.

So i urge the Fellow members not to start a blame game and hold on and have confidance upon our Security Forces and Intelligencia. These are the people who work day and night just because ordinary people could sleep at night. Dont ever underestimate them. I am sure they must be doing something about it.

.
I would be interested to know how can an Indian hand be involved when Tehrik-e-Taliban Pak has already claimed responsibility? The same TTP whose chief Baitullah (along with other notorious Fazlullah) had been declared a Patriotic Pakistani by Pak Army. Ironic it is!!! on one hand they are Patriotic Pakistanis with whom there is only slight misunderstanding and on the other, they are Indian assets hellbent on destroying Pakistani statehood.

.
Time for pakistan to act seriously on this. If they pass on like every other time without enough evidence i think it creates a big thereat to national integrity.

.
The Indian whining and excuses behind placing the blame at the doorstep of the ISI were:

1. Attacks were 'sophisticated' and the perpetrators had 'characteristics' of being trained as SF's

2. Harm India's economy

Both of those explanations apply to the recent attacks we have seen in Lahore, which implies, using the logic of Indians and Indian apologists, that the Indian security services are behind the Lahore attacks - providing resources, intelligence and training - even if the perpetrators themselves were not Indians.

Media and myth-making

After the Punjab law minister declared that “the hand of India could not be ruled out” in the Police Rescue-15 attack, the media kept repeating that there was a “possibility” that India had organised the suicide-van. One TV anchor actually concluded that it was indeed India (and also America) that intended to create chaos in Pakistan to such an extent that it may allow them to strip Pakistan of its nuclear weapons. He went to say that the terrorists dying in Swat were all Indians.

Gradually, and unfortunately, the trend seems to be to move the focus away from the Taliban and Al Qaeda and bring it on to America and India. The “link” established is through the Taliban, however. Now that the Pakistan Army is fighting Baitullah Mehsud and his terrorists in Bajaur and Malakand, it is acceptable to say that he has sold out to the Americans and Indians. Every explosion that takes place therefore is immediately attributed to the “foreign hand” of America and India. This is a self-damaging policy as it will finally derail our national direction and let the terrorists go scot-free.

The biggest damage from this kind of myth-making is inflicted on the government in power. People ask: if you are being attacked by the Americans why do you approach them and their allies for assistance? Those “expert” commentators and writers who spread around the “American-Indian” conspiracy against Pakistan must realise its psychological impact on the people at large. The world press has already taken note of this trend.

One Pakistani daily is supposed to have taken an e-mailed comment to the Fox News website to concoct a scenario in which “a secret US commando force was ready to infiltrate Pakistan to secure its nuclear weapons”. Another paper claimed that former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was “assassinated by a special death squad formed by former US vice-president Dick Cheney”. The American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, to whom this was attributed, immediately denounced the report as “complete madness”. What is even more alarming is that at times government spokesmen actually encourage this kind of falsehood. *

Wonder why Governments of world cant track inflow of money to taliban......I am pretty sure...apart from Drug money....saudi assholes might be involved in this crap....Guess everyone knows , but nobody's pointing finger at the cash rich sheikhs of the world...

.
If Indian counsulates can be taken out, then GOP should open twice the number of consulates on the Pakistani side of the border and give right direction to all the fighters misguided by Indian consulates.

1) Sell Opium, export it around the world, make money give it to the militants. Opium production is at an ALL time high :victory:

http://www.unodc.org/documents/crop-monitoring/Afghanistan_Opium_Survey_2008.pdf

Read Page 97 and Page 101 and onwards.

2) Export Wahabi/Salafi ideology around the middle east and south east asia. Lots of donation money received.

Malise Ruthven: How the Saudis used oil money to export a hardline ideology that fuels Islamist terror - Commentators, Opinion - The Independent

3) Buy weapons from Private military contractors across the middle east..

Hope this answers your Question .. no need to say thanks :enjoy:

How that comes into Pakistan is a different story and we don't know for sure.. But i can surely say with Confidence they come through Afghanistan and the Tribal areas.. though i am not going to completely neglect and will 'speculate' on the involvement of the Research and Analysis wing in all this.. surely IF India is involved their involvement is rather very minute compared to the above three points i mentioned

Thanks to S2 for giving me some info on this.. i later read and did some research and found these..

this beeper was given in oct 2007

Now i think the cancer has gone to stage where except operation there is no other remedy.

.
The major part of financial backing comes from the opium crops in afghanistan; while they get donors from the arab countries (mostly saudi arabia) to get the rest of it.

I somewhat think that dragging india into all of our troubles has created a problem for us; it seems to be an effort to get the whole nation's backing for the operation; which until now a few days back was very little.

If the govt does not have any proof; it shouldnt go around blaming everyone for it; but if they do have something to show; put it up on the media; dont give blank statements...

.
Pak already has been turned into a laughing stock ...thanks for the likes of Mr. Rana Saunullah,Rehman Malik,Lahore police chief and so on as they are blaming India behind every attack even before any kind of investigation and any proof. They love saying its 'India' behind every of these attack and then jump with joy thinking that their responsibility is over. This is why pak has LOST credibility in front of the world, NO one believes what they say. Later its turns out to be Talibunnies and local terrorists organizations proudly and happily claiming responsibility and even giving clear clues of when and where the other attack would come....... even after such intelligence pak could do nothing. This is a HUGE intelligence failure of pak.

Anyway... whatever is hapenning in pak is the result of its own 'deeds' which are showing the results now.

Look who’s talking my Pakistani brothers. It was Indian who made clams with in 2 hours of Mumbai attacks that Pakistan was behind these attacks with out any investigation.

Well that's my point jey. There is all this hoopla over how 'sophisticated and advanced' the Mumbai attacks were, and how 'well trained' the terrorists were, and the implication is that it would not be possible without ISI involvement.

I just pointed out how one could argue the same exact thing about the attacks in Lahore, and the insurgency in FATA, which are in many ways a lot more advanced and sophisticated operations, with excellent intelligence to boot.

So long as Indians and Indian apologists continue to push the canard of ISI involvement in Mumbai without any evidence on the basis of spurious argument, there is no need to complain about Pakistanis accusing India of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan using rationale similar to that used by India.
