Indian government should hang its head in shame: BBC filmmaker

Mate,as far as I am concerned she broke our Laws and openly insulted our Judiciary, thus indirectly insulting our country and her Constitution. So,that makes her an offender and hence she should be prosecuted for the crimes she has committed by breaking multiple laws. She,in a way, defamed my Motherland and for me there is nothing greater than the honor and integrity of India.Plus @jaatram has already clarified on my behalf that i didn't say anything outrageous against Ms.Udween and hence you should have kept my family out of this.
It funny he is trying to raise concern about female equality by dragging in other females. It would take 2 minutes to pull their progressive veil off but they think just because a foreigner said it about India, we must listen and follow them.

.
Ahh,please go away from here and beg some where else:lol:!!We are tired of entertaining beggars like you:azn:.
Philippines is richer than India, both nominal and ppp per capita, we also have higher HDI.
India is the poster of poverty and chaos

Who cares about the per capita income!!The only thing that matters most in case of a country is the GDP(nominal) and GDP(PPP) and in both these parameters,India is at least 20 times more than your "poor" and poverty-stricken state of Phillipines:omghaha:.Man you guys are so poor,i will personally urge my Govt. to send some food aid to your country as soon as possible:lol::lol::rofl:

I think that's a BS argument that govts give again and again. There are several editorials written so should they be stopped too. And if this guy guarantees a conviction, it is a fairly earned one.

Silly argument. Jimmy Saville's offences came to light only recently.

Silly argument. Simmy saville's crimes came out only recently.

2012 is not recently mate.

That is because most of our Indian people continue to believe that whatever the anglo-saxon says, is the truth.

It is a colonial mentality which I noticed, particularly in metro cities and among media intellectuals who are the residual tokens of colonial crap.

@rubyjackass i worry about the females in mike's life.

Whole world should be worried about the FEMALES of the CLAN this JOCKAR BELONGS.

They do not allow their Females to come out of BURKA.

They Can Marry Four Females to fulfill their PERVERTED SEX DESIRES.

THEY CAN DIVORCE THEM JUST BE SAYING SINGLE WORD THREE TIMES. And again marry another female to ruin her life.

There is also president IN HIS CLAN of MARRYING A CHILD AT THE AGE OF SIX AND SEXUALLY ABUSE HER.

now and lets start avoiding BBC and England should lower its head in shame for interfering like a parasite.

She should have been arrested for breaking countless Indian Laws in the first place. She isn't above the laws of this country just because of her profession. What she did was a total insult to our Judiciary and an indirect insult to our Constitution. My personal opinion is that the GoI should prosecute her for falsifying evidences and breaking a number of Indian laws in the process and should start a process of extraditing her from the U.K.:coffee:
There is nothing insulting in the documentary about our constitution. There was no false evidence in it, unless you can prove that she paid the rapist to say those words. Btw you should know that if you want an interview of Bill Clinton, for example, you have to pay him. The rapist does not seem to be coerced or trained to say those words at all. Just watch bits of the documentary where he says its the girl's fault.

There is a huge difference between restraining order and a ban. Does Indian laws and judicial process is to be messed around like they are nothing?
Ohh please. Restraining order on a film is a ban.

The film maker claimed that she got the permission for the interview, which seems to be true from other independent reports. The interview does not violate the judicial process per se. If you have belief in our judges, with faith in their not getting affected by public knowledge like the documentary, that is. It would have violated the judicial process in countries where a jury decides whether a guy is guilty or not.

The only technicality on which the ban was imposed is that the documentary is supposed to be for educational/informational purposes and that somehow airing it on BBC violates this undertaking. I don't see any such clauses in the permission letter the film maker put out. It says interview is permitted if she got a written permission from the people in jail to be interviewed.

The second technicality which the government did not even bother with, which would have made some sense, is that the name of the victim was revealed in the documentary. Btw an Indian media agency already did this mistake once earlier. I don't see them in jail.

There is no falsifying of evidence. She reported whatever she recorded from the people around the incident, in good faith. For some reason, she missed interviewing Nirbhaya's friend. And this did not change the story a lot, except which movie the guy wanted to watch.

And just notice what the minister is claiming the documentary to be. If there were really nationalist and worried that it would defame India, they shouldn't have provided free publicity to it with a ban. It is not like they can ban every documentary about India in other countries. We cannot afford to have people who are both ultra-nationalist and stupid.

Which She About To Do in Uk Parliament it was Pre-emptive Move by govt which Done on the Concerns of the Intel Agencies of the country.Govt was Ready to give her Free Pass just Wanted a Undertaking by her Part Which is Refused !!(Wonder Why:coffee:)What was Wrong in it.

Delhi HC quashes lookout circular against Greenpeace activist Pillai

Delhi high court on Thursday quashed the lookout circular (LOC) issued by the central government against Greenpeace activist Priya Pillai, who was stopped from flying to London in January this year.

Justice Rajiv Shakdher also directed the central government to expunge endorsements made while offloading Pillai from a flight to London by immigration officials at the Delhi airport on January 11.

The Centre had offloaded Pillai and also issued a LOC against which she moved the court.

You cannot muzzle dissent in a democracy... Citizens can have different opinion of development policies," the high court said.

And another slap in the governments face, for their restrictive policies which has backfired on them and shows who is damaging India's image!

How much band width has been wasted on a single documentary?????

Too little mate, because the discussion is not about the docu, it's content or what we can do to prevent such things happen again, but about conspiracy theories and hurt feelings about foreigners making a docu in India. :tsk:

I don't understand who is safe in this country. If someone makes a documentary of unhygienic conditions in Indian Railway, that can also be seen as an attempt to 'defame' India. Apparently it hurts India's foreign investment opportunities, when so many of us are dying of cholera and typhoid.

. We cannot afford to have people who are both ultra-nationalist and stupid.

Sometimes the things that this government is doing boggles the mind. Sushma Swaraj asking the UK government to stop a rally on Kashmir, something they couldn't have done anything about but which gave huge publicity to something no one was paying attention to. The stupid, stupid action against the greenpeace activist Pillai turning some obscure person into a national celebrity who now gets plenty of air time on national television. The ban on the rape documentary that not only provided free publicity but damaged India's reputation plenty across the world, far more than anything in the documentary would.

And another slap in the governments face, for their restrictive policies which has backfired on them and shows who is damaging India's image!

Stupidity beyond belief. what the heck were they thinking? That the courts would be looking at squashing dissent favourably?

Well it shows that India is taking a worrisome path and what's even worse is, that this is the result of the voter of the biggest democracy in the world giving a party a clear mandate to govern. I highly doubt that any NDA voter actually voted for restrictions of the right to express your opinion, to travel, to see the movies / docus or even to possess the food you might like.

LOL are we in denial here? :disagree: She still gave her speech and that was what the government tried to stop. But the HC now made clear, that she has every right to do so, while the government has no right to stop her from doing it, since stating a different opinion is not anti national!
