HYDERABAD – Indian police have rounded up a man for allegedly raping a teenage girl inside a cinema hall in Hyderabad.

The 19-year-old girl had become friends with the accused, identified as 23-year-old Kandakatla Bikshapathi, some two months ago.

On Jan 29, the duo went to Prashanth theatre to watch ‘Padmaavat’ a controversial movie which recently hit the cinemas. The girl was sexually assaulted by Bikshapathi during the show.

Hindustan times quoted circle inspector Mathaiah as saying, “The girl was raped inside a movie theatre. Two months ago, the victim and the accused became friends through social media”.

Police said that there were few people in the cinema to watch the movie, adding that the boy took advantage of the situation.

The accused was arrested on January 31 and a case was registered against him under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The suspect has been sent to jail on judicial remand.
The girl reportedly is undergoing treatment after suffering severe injuries on her private parts.

Two months ago, in a similar incident, a group of boys allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl inside a movie theater in Uttar Pradesh. The police had arrested two people in connection with the case.

She also picked a random guy from online social media site to befriend , seriously the kind of indians u will find on social media are some of the worst who r just after raping women, if we recall bob memes, It was a bad choice for her. Indian women should also learn to act responsible in who to see.

Anyways, why cinemas dont have a system to detect people in such distress state and give help. This is an alarming thing and cinema houses world over must think about providing some system to protect women n kids from this.
