They are not bullying India in SCS. IOR and SCS are totally different. If you want to compare SCS, compare it with Bay of Bengal. What will you say if they move their navy in BoB ?

China is emerging power and it HAS to project its power in SCS. No matter whether you agree or not, its not about morality, its about national interest. They are doing what they think is best for their country.

Will you agree to hypothetical demand made by Malaysia or Indonesia if they object our Naval presence and challenge our ownership of A&N islands if they become more significant power in our region ?

We Indians have to understand that China's dominance at the world stage - call it bullying, call it chest beating or call it whatever you want, IS A RESULT of a long history of being shamed by western powers and the Japanese. Now they are on a SHOT - economically and militarily and to some extent politically.

Now they are saying to much of the western world that they are strong and can take up any challenges thrown at them. The era of "CONCESSIONS" where powers like Britain, Germany, USA, Russia, French and the Japanese practically tore China's moral fabric to shreds, is now being answered back - if not on the same breadth, then by a bullish attitude of its arrival at world stage. Resentment towards Japan - especially - is to be understood in the context of the horrendous brutality the Chinese had to suffer in WW-2 .

While I am patriotic as hell about India, one has to give due respect to China for its rise - and at that, a CONFIDENT rise.

I think the best people to answer the queries if any "authority" will board Indian ships of trade in the SCS - are the shipping companies themselves. If anyone knows any sailing crew working in biggies like Wallem, Anglo Eastern, Univan, Shippign Corp. of India, etc they can easily give VALID information if there are substantiated reports of the Chinese forcibly searching any vessels that are in their (claimed) waters. Mind you, shipping companies have the most updated circulars of engagement - instead of any western/eastern/desi/CCCTV report.

Its power projection..however if the Chinese does that ...it makes Chinese ships vulnerable to being boarded when they pass the strait or Indian Ocean.

India does not accepts Chinese presence in the IOR. ....harassment of Indian Ships will result in harassment of Chinese ships...the Chinese are smart enough not to want that.
