Never watched a Pakistani film, don’t think ever will. I’ve heard some songs, even heard some Afghani songs on youtube. As a Music lover am open to music and even listen to some music which I understand a zero of the lyrics and not narrow minded like some desis can be.
But, in terms of films, I rarely watch nowdays. But, I used to like Bollywood late 90s - early 2000s as there was a good vibe about the family oriented films, decent makings, dressing was more appropriate. Now they’re almost naked and even have p.ornstars becoming bollywood stars, wannabe all hollywood ways. Hardly any good content, good decent family oriented films. It’s missing it’s proper roots, ways of things. Just all wannabe and fake, some of them even have fake english accents.
As for Bangladeshi films, it was good in the 90s when the legend Salman Shah was alive. It suffered a lot, it’s not in a good shape. It is miles behind in many things and will take time to revive as some of the production houses trying. But the market is big with 98% Bengali speaking, there’s money to be made. It will get better and has last some years still long away to go. But with the joint ventures, both Bangla joining can make a huge market together. Shakib Khan the actor is a mega star without him BD cinemas dont run. And he has already done 4/5 films in the other side of Bengal. He is driving to make a bangla film market bigger, doing his bits. If it can work out then if there’s a industry that can give Bollywood a run in these parts it will be BEngali cinema (working under one banner maybe call it Bengallywood). Together it’s over 300million!
In summary. Bollywood despite the modern ways, hollywood wannabe and the girls are showing more body parts than hollywood women themselves. Is still the top dog in the region. There does come some good fills time to time like 3 idiots in 2009. But for my likings and most who are born pre 89/90s would know best part of getting into bollywood was those soft nice melodious good vibe feel, songs of late 90s - early 2000s.
