Better to use satellite imagery of both sides' positions pre and post-operations (assuming these haven't ended yet), map out their positions and work out who has ingressed where and calculate the distance/frontage that is now in Chinese control/India lost or vice-versa. Futile to rely on the words of any one analyst, who knows who may be on the payroll of which entity and forwarding their agendas.

The India army knew about this and has always respected the status quo.
But recently Modi BJP rightists or nationalistic politicians have taken the issue out of hand by insisting that the India Army seized control of this demilitarise territory and occupied an empty highest hillstop there to lure the Chinese Army to recover it after its humiliating encounter in Galwan Valley. In ancient warfare it would have worked perfectly but today BJP wanted these soldiers to be sacrificed as martyrs because they will all be killed as China military warned.
Trump USA the instigator of this conflict pretend to be the mediator but China rejected him.
So to prempt Trump plan, Putin offered to mediate and a 5 points agreement is reached.
Meaning to return these territory as no man land or demilitarise zone.
So why does the Indian New Media or politicians still want to claim a political victory which was never.
That is why piliticians are more dangerous than a Bengali tiger. They are absolutely reckless and mainly brainless.
