Prime Minister Imran Khan’s warm gesture of waiving off two requirements for the visiting Sikh pilgrims has won the hearts of millions of people of Sikh community. Renowned Indian Cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan have also thanked the Pakistani premiere for his warm gesture.

On Friday PM Khan announced that his government has decided to waive off two requirements for the visiting Sikh pilgrims. The two conditions waived off includes, ending requirement of a passport and 10 days advance registration.

“For Sikhs coming for pilgrimage to Kartarpur from India, I have waived off 2 requirements: i) they wont need a passport – just a valid ID; ii) they no longer have to register 10 days in advance. Also, no fee will be charged on day of inauguration & on Guruji’s 550th birthday,” PM Imran Khan wrote.

The historic Kartarpur Corridor is likely to be opened next month with it’s construction work entering it’s final stages. Pakistan has also invited former Indian PM Manmohan Singh and Indian Cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Currently the agreement is for Sikhs coming through the corridor would only spend the day and return in the evening, so asking $200 - $300 for just a few hours visit is kinda steep, so $20 for the visit is fair in my eyes, especially considering that Visa fees for Indians is only 120 Indian rupees.

Thats a bit high, but price can be increased later after we iron out all the issues. Right now with a low fee we can get good press, happy Sikhs, and a butthurt Modi which is good enough for me.

How can you compare Hajj's fee with Kartapur. Flight tickets alone would cost $300-500 per person for Hajj while Kartapur is only a drive away and pilgrims would be returning on the same day
