Why the change of names? What are the reasons?
India always copy China.
So when Chinese PRC changed the name from Peking to Beijing in 1958, India started to follow this trend.
Indus originates in China. 94% of the river flows through Pakistan, majority of the Indus Basin falls in Pakistan [minor parts in China, Afghanistan, India] and you think it has nothing to do with Pakistan. That would be like me saying River Ganga has nothing to do with India. Or Nile nothing to do with Egypt.
Indus originates in Tibet which was part of Ancient India. Tibet is abode of Lord Shiva.
