I don't watch cricket.

I stopped seeing ever since it started getting fixed.

But I try to watch Bangaldesh when they play. I like their youthful side and because they are always the underdogs. My favourite is Ashraful. I don't know what went wrong with him. Maybe ego!

That fat coach Dav or whatever made them into a good team.

Okey bongs. Continue with your cross border love-hate story.
Time for rest of us to move on. :)

When the war mounted in 1971 and no way to escape, Indira Gandhi chained the Temporary Bangladesh Government in October-1971 by signing the treaty. The treaty is called ‘7 –point secret treaty'. The conditions of the treaty were extracted from Masudul Haq(1990,pp.92):

• Those who actively participated in the liberation war (1971), only; they will be allowed to stay at the administration. The rest of the officials would be sacked and the vacant posts would be filled up by Indian administrative officials.

• After the liberation war the Indian soldiers (required number) would stay in Bangladesh (there was no time limit about how long they would stay). From November, 1972 to review the matter a meeting between the two countries would be arranged in the following every year.

• There will be no separate Military for Bangladesh .

• To check the discipline of law and order in the country a Para Military force would be formed encircled by Mukti Bahini(Liberation force).

• The Indian Chief of the staffs of the Military would lead the possible India-Pakistan war, not the Chief of Mukti Bahini, and during the war time the Mukti Bahni would be under Indian command.

• The business of the two countries would be open market based. But the number of the business would be determined in every year and the dues would be paid by Sterling (Pounds.)

• In the case of relation between Bangladesh and other states, the Foreign Ministry would contact with Indian Foreign Ministry and India would assist as long she could.

The treaty was signed by Temporary President Syed Nazrul Islam. That man became fainted after he had signed the treaty. (According to Masudul haq, 1990, pp.93)

Has any of this actually been implemented? Despite it apparently being signed I can't see much evidence the treaty has been upheld by Bangladeshi side.

I suppose history is written by the victor.

CAS to cricket.. Go on... All r at right direction.. Bangla-india gr8 force in the making...

As I indicated earlier the Indian CAS will be taking salute from the new graduates of the BMA course. Does this mean our army has become subservient to the Indian army or is this merely a symbolic gesture intended to humiliate us?

The Daily Amader shomoy June 9, 2011 news0711.htm

It is interesting that one goes bonkers with anti Indian phlegm without knowing history.

Here is something for those who have jumped out of bed having had a nightmare without having their coffee.

In 1998, the then Chief of the Bangladesh Army, late General Muztafizur Rahman was invited to review the Passing Out Parade of the Indian Military Academy, Dehran Dun

Indian Army chief to review BMA parade | PRIYO

The present Chief of Bangladesh Army. General Mohammed Abdul Mubeen has been invited to be the Chief Guest at the next Passing Out Parade at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai.

Now have your coffee that you forgot to drink because of the constriction of phlegm.

IA Chief came, took the salute etc and has gone back for a quicker retirement from service. The thread should be closed being redundant.

True the thread can be buried six feet underground since it is established that there was no earthshaking agony felt in India to salute the BD Army Chief and do what is normally done i.e. salute a senior officer who is reviewing the parade.

Hiyo Silver Away!

While I was reading through Pakistan Defence Forum, I came across this subforum, the Bangladesh section. And while reading through this thread I was shocked to see some of these Bangladeshis! So I felt it necessary to register and say something.

I never would have thought Bangaldeshis would be so UNGRATEFUL!

We trained your Mukti Bahini! We freed you from West Pakistan with immense support from our military! We took in your refugees during the war! We have helped you recover from the war! We are still helping you to develop! We have so many illegal immigrants from your country! We are making so many beneficial deals and agreements with your country! Our culture is ultimately one and the same! Yet you people are so ungrateful towards us!

Please, for your own sake of being good and truthful people, please do not change history like some of you do to reduce the amount of help India gave to you. Do not forget who it was that freed your country and helped it always! Without India there would be no Bangladesh, let alone Bangladesh army! It should be protocol for the Bangladesh army and forces to always salute Indian army officials! It is only right to show your gratefulness!

I'm sorry if that sounded cold but it's only the truth! India will always continue to help and look out for it's little brother! :smitten:

LONG LIVE BANGLADESH-INDIA FRIENDSHIP!!!

You are what Henry Kissinger said is a 'useful idiot'. Thats how he described Mujib.

You wander into this forum with the idiotic understanding that India created BD. Let me make you feel better, you are not the first idiot who thinks like that.
