What's your point? It served us well. And yes it may be a small carrier but it packed a punch. Relating to your previous post, a carrier may not guarantee a blue water navy, but a blue water navy does require a carrier. And we plan to have two CBGs by 2015. (mostly gonna stretch to 2017)

With the american navy at Diego garcia, don't expect to ever dominate the Indian ocean. Atleast not until 2050

Americans dont have a huge naval presence in Diego Garcia as compared to other naval bases.It is now more of refueling base with a military presence.Though it is suspected to be a CIA black site.In terms of military strength in the region, We r the most powerful in the region.

Anyways we are now an ally of USN.So we will not have any issues with them.I am sure USA will not have any problems with us having dominance over the region as our interests do not clash with them.

Do not be delusional. The US navy fifth fleet is far superior than our navy. I'm just being realistic here. Do we have so much as a needle that can prick their supercarriers or nuclear subs? We will get there. But we're not there tight now and you need to come to terms with that
