The thread title was rather amusing. What credit goes where? Here the issue was the impression of "unprovoked" firing from both sides and the pointless casualties that occurred because of it. When talking of the engagement area which is not two blocks wide as somehow assumed. The ceasefire on one end may not mean the end of it at the other, this was exactly the situation. Except a certain time period there was no barrage across the entire front as is being portrayed. Pockets of fire that opened up randomly at various locations and would then die down. Moreover, neither side deserved the slightest of credit for anything as BOTH are guilty of needless murder of civilians caught in the crossfire.

No the Pakistanis in the NSC meeting decided that we have been beaten up real bad. Lets stop this misadventure.....and India reciprocated. So Pakistan was the one to start it and stop it too.
