Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’s Union president Kanhaiya Kumar has stroked yet another controversy claiming that some Indian army soldiers rape women in Kashmir. Kanhaiya Kumar while addressing JNU students said that he would raise his voice against human rights violation and AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) in Kashmir. He also said that army men raped Kashmiri women.



Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly raising anti-national slogans on February 12. He was put behind the bars with charges of sedition for raising his voice against the country during an event to commemorate the third anniversary of the execution of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

Jawaharlal Nehru University professor Makarand Paranjape on Monday took on Kanhaiya Kumar for quoting wrong facts. He said that Kanhaiya should have cross check his facts before talking about it. The professor said that there has been many such judicial murders in the past from 1920 to 1950 and one such issue created a huge ruckus in the country. An inquiry committee was also set up to probe the raising of anti-India slogans in the campus. ABVP protesters had protested against the event. Saurabh Sharma, ABVP member accused university students of providing shelter to 10 students for ten days.

it is used as oppression by everyone regardless of race or religion or nationality
