Indian Army now world’s largest ground force as China halves strength on modernisation push

Apni apni soch hai... You feel happy over small skirmish victory we feel happy over strategic victories... Example siachen, arunachal Pradesh, 5th Aug... We never celebrated small victories such as shooting down Atlantic full of 20 Pakistanis...
27th Feb tum logo ki choti choti khushiya hai....
if loosing 2 jets, a chopper with 7 lives on board along with getting bombed in 6 places heavily guarded with isresli sams within 24 hours of killing a small crow is a tiny skirmish for you then kia kehnay aap ki soch kay! I hope you maintain that soch!

Atlantique was an unarmed trainer aircraft, might as well have shot down an passenger airliner in retaliation us for shooting down a mig21, mig27 numerous indian choppers & taking the highest peak in kargil (pt 5353) a mere 2 months earlier. cowardice at its best...that peak is still with us by the way, slowly & steadily, india's side of Kashmir is shrinking & silly little shenanigans like aug5 aren't gonna save it. :enjoy:

Speaking of aug 5th, it has bogged your military down on the streets of iok instead of the loc & the border which makes things that much easier for us...is elmo your military planner?

siachin is india's utter failure as the original plan was to first cross siachin, then establish a base camp in GB followed by invading & taking the rest of AJK while most of the Pakistan Army & Air Force was busy on the Afghan front...india couldn't even accomplish the first step & is now stuck in a barren, frozen wasteland, can neither move forward nor backward. But I understand...typical indian media spin off making a failure appear as success. the fact is that it got you nothing. ab baith kay kulfian hago!

the list of indian debacles goes on & on.

Whatever we still have Kashmir, strategic siachen under our control.... If all these things are waste and failures for you then why fight India through proxies? Yes because you can't engage her militarily... Just be happy with what you have and leave us alone... We lost old jet but you succumbed to our threat and released pilot in no time is enough for me.... 5th Aug was an icing on the cake....

you only have 40% of kashmir left... just look at the map...Pakistan has 35% of Kashmir (GB included), China has a 25% of kashmir, that's all you have left. siachin doesn't buy you any strategic advantage, especially NOW that we have point 5353 causing the sole road that supplies you in siachin passes right under the noses of our artillery...there's a reason why your deaths due to weather & lack of supplies has tremendously increased post 1999. please do your homework before putting your dhotti in your mouth.

Armies have traditiobally always been a reliable source of employment, and with Pakistan and India having large populations (India far more so than Pakistan), with huge poverty rates, and low per capita GDPs, it's no wonder that both armies have never felt the need to implement conscription, as they both have a ready and stead supply of volunteers, looking to get out of poverty. This also makes it politically hard in both India and Pakistan to cut the number of ground forces, as it would lead to increased unemployment, and an increase in poverty rates.

Meanwhile, China is steadily growing into a fully developed nation, and with an increasingly wealthy middle class, and increased internal consumption, creating more and more local jobs, people aren't likely in a rush to join the PLA to get a steady income. Not to mention that China is a centralized authoritarian government, so it can easily justify cutting the number of ground forces, and move towards modernization, without having to deal with too many political ramifications.

it is good as india is wasting money on keeping such large army while world is moving to cost effective methods including drone and other unmanned technology to replace man power

Not necessary... look at Germany Russia war... how Germany was advancing initially.... did it break the moral of Russia? In India's case actually whenever India is in trouble whole nation forgets issues and stand up united....
You think Indian soldiers can fight like Russians? Ha ha, you are comparing giants with dwarfs and i am sure you know who is the DWARF here

Yes but for this you need to be like USA.... only she can use above things in the number to completely destroy the army in the class of India.... any other power cannot do much except for delaying Indian armoured thrust inside its territory for some time... as an example PAF in total cannot deliver a punch of single B2 flight on advancing armor.... see the difference...
didnt you see what happened on 27 Feb 19 ? In spite of being 5 times in size IAF ran away with its TAIL-BETWEEN-ITS-LEGS only because the AMRAAMs held by PAF had no equal in IAF inventory and still you have the cheeks to say quantity is a quality.

I know we lack modern weapons and 70% is 60 era obsolete equipment but wars are won by the Force who can keep up with the losses and still fight.... Against India modern force (barring Usa/china) will have initial tactical gains due to technical superiority but it won't be able to sustain war of attrition longer which may eventually turn the battle in India's favor my friend....
in last 5000 recorded history of warfare you know how many times India has resisted foreign armies attacking from West ? Not even once
How dare you talk of war of attrition like German, Japanese or Russian soldiers ?
