What was a US Marine doing in an Indian army exercise??? It's definitely not a joint exercise! Is he a marine or Japanese self defence personnel?

from the various pics you can see numerous foreign military delegations from US (USN and Army), Japan, Nepal and various others.

It is not a joint ex but they are simply observers most likely attached to their respective embassies in India who have been invited to watch. Common practice, EX Shardushan Shakti also had many foreign military onlookers.
