Fair to acquaint public with Indian Army

As part of the 70th Independence Day celebrations, the army is organising a 'Know Your Army' fair here for the public on the theme 'Indian Army: Know Our Might', an official said on Friday.
"The event will be held on August 12-13 at Central Vehicle Depot (CVD), Delhi Cantonment, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is open to general public who will be able to see military equipment, demonstrations and motivational movies," an official said.
"The event will include display of wide array of military equipment and weapons which would demonstrate the technological advancement and military might of the Indian Army," the official added.
The army tank museum showcasing various vintage tanks would be part of the display.
There would also be stalls providing information as to how the young people can join the army.
There would be cultural shows comprising army band display and other entertainment programmes. Food courts and refreshments catering to different tastes would also be available, the official said.
"The event promises to be a unique, unforgettable and motivational experience for the youth and general public to see and feel from close quarters the army way of life," the official said.
