Indian Army deploys K-9 Vajra howitzers in Ladakh for high altitude operations

If you think I'm not using my real flags, and it obviously pisses you off, then, by all means, do continue to think so. It gives me great joy knowing you get mad

You really think people are that dumb to not realize that you are a pajeet?

Start using your real flag. Is Indian flag that much of a shame for you that you don't use it? Why shame in your identity?

South Korea's K9,It is OK to regard it as a gun with leading paper data and low actual combat effectiveness.
In the artillery battle with North Korea's Yeonpyeong Island, it was pressed by North Korean artillery 40 years ago. Only three of the six cannons could fire shells,There was also a problem with the matching radar, which missed the target by more than 200 meters.

Wait, you mean they have military assets on their lands to protect their borders? shocking!

then you should be happy General xuxu , only 3 of them will work. :meeting:

haha clearly they do, Pak generals anticipation and planning were seen in the last few wars with India. At least they are consistent.
Lolx last few wars ? You mean Kargil which is considered biggest failure of indian intelligence agencies by their own generals ?

Or 80s when we broke your puranna abba USSR ?

Or maybe recent 2019 or 2014 ?

Real Americans are not obsessed to this degree with India. Mainstream US media mocks India to the same or sometimes even greater degree than even China.

As I said, I bet the Indian military establishment wants Pak's generals to think of them, exactly as you do.

Indian Establishment AKA Generals,

1- Bipin , still changing his diapers after given another life by PAF.

2- Naravane said he is seriously stressed. See his face and understand, he just had a sigh of relief after Chinese decided to pull back, otherwise he sent a message to Bipin, I want to join you on the "bog" seat. :omghaha: :omghaha:

Yup

It is pretty much clear that he is an Indian

A lot of the westerners, especially teenagers, are nasty little jerks. When I was in high school, I heard some delinquents talking about how Indians are the “color of their shit”.

Us Asians (East and South and South East) usually watch out for each other.

Ah the usual BS coming in.

1. K-9s at the time were not loaded with any shell because the bombardment started right after the training. (shooting towards the designated area of the sea, south of the island) Operating crews needed to bring the shell from the ammunition storehouse by hand. If anything it demonstrates how well these operators are trained, compared to how a normal howitzers are fired.

2. Of those 3 which haven't fired, 1 had a blind shell from the aforementioned live fire exercise and 2 had a near shot. One of those two were fixed within a few minutes and joined the counter-fire. The other one had its crew extinguishing the fire on propellant charges just outside the vehicle.

3. If anything, K-9's armor protected its crew from the initial bombardments.

4. Missing targets were down to lack of weather team, surveilance equipment, i.e. UAV for forward observing and counter battery radar (AN/TPQ-37) not able to detect the shells on time of initial impact. If anything the shot group was very dense, showcasing the high accuracy.

If it was such a shit weapon, go ask the northern European nations who've bought it why they're buying these piece of crap which could be "pressed by 40 years old artilleries" and ask the Australians why they are considering it as the primary option for their Land 8116 program.

All in all, exactly the opposite of what you're claiming. Get a grip lil fella.

Issue is this. K-9 is a decent bit of kIt, bit just like Rafale, new rifles and Apaches, India can only afford tiny amounts of very high tech stuff relative to it's combined forces.

India had 3 armoured strike corps with 100 K-9s.

Pak has 2 armoured strike corps with 400 M109s.

In a fast moving armoured, mass scale armoured battle in the desert you can see what will happen right?

If you ask most Americans what they think of India the first thing that comes to mind is either overpopulation or slums. I don't think I've ever met anyone with a positive opinion of India in the states ... even Indian Americans themselves incessantly mock the country.

Ladakh is a region administered by India as a union territory and constitutes a part of the larger Kashmir region, which has been the subject of dispute between India, Pakistan, and China since 1947.

Beginning on 5 May 2020, Chinese and Indian troops engaged in aggressive melee, face-offs and skirmishes at locations along the Sino-Indian border, including near the disputed Pangong Lake in Ladakh and the Tibet Autonomous Region, and near the border between Sikkim and the Tibet Autonomous Region.

Citing the Indian Express website, the Indian Army, engaged in a military stand-off with the Chinese army for more than a year, has developed infrastructure and now the capability to accommodate a large number of troops in the habitats that have been built in the Ladakh sector and other areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

China continues to deploy troops near the Eastern Ladakh sector. The Chinese have been coming to these areas for many years where they hold their exercises in summer time. The forces deployed by the Indian side in Ladakh include the Indo Tibetan Border Police, Indian Air Force, and Indian Army which is now at the forward most locations in the sector.

In February 2021, it was announced that India has deployed the first K-9 Vajra 155mm self-propelled howitzers for trials in the high-altitude mountainous area of Ladakh.

South Korean company Hanwha Techwin joined hands with Indian conglomerate Larsen and Toubro Limited to supply 100 K9 for the Indian Army Howitzer competition. In September 2015, Larsen and Toubro emerged as the finalist for an US$800 million contract to supply 100 K9 Vajra 155mm self-propelled howitzers to the Indian Army.

The K9 Vajra is a variant of the South Korean K9 specially designed for operation in desert areas. The K9 is a self-propelled howitzer based on a tracked armored chassis. This artillery vehicle is armed with a 155mm / 52 caliber cannon. It has a burst rate of fire of three rounds per 15 seconds and a maximum rate of fire of six to eight rounds a minute for three minutes. It has a maximum firing range of 40 km.

Indian Army has deployed the first K9-Vajra self-propelled howitzer regiment in the Ladakh sector along the Line of Actual Control with China. The gun can strike enemy targets at around 50 km,Was inducted into the Indian Army in 2018
The Indian Army has deployed K-9 Vajra howitzers in Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control with China.
Built by L&T with technology transfer from South Korean defence major Hanwha Defense, the K9 Vajra is an indigenised version of the K9 Thunder and can strike enemy targets at around 50 km.
The Indian Army has also deployed its T-90 tanks in Ladakh.

Speaking on their deployment and performance, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane said that these guns can also work in high-altitude areas.

“Their field trials were extremely successful. We have now added an entire regiment, this will be really helpful,” the COAS said.
The defence ministry has received 51 of the 100 orders it received for K9 Vajra ahead of schedule.

While India has increased participation of the private sector in defence production, a lot still needs to be done to make India a global weapons manufacturing hub.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called for active participation of the private sector in defence manufacturing, reaffirming the government’s commitment to make India a weapons manufacturing hub and net defence exporter.

After flagging off the K9 Vajra-T gun from the Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Armoured System Complex at Hazira in Gujarat last year in October, Singh had said that more than 75 per cent of howitzer has been manufactured in India.

“Over 5,000 people have got direct employment and more than 12,500 indirect employment through this complex. It is a matter of great pride,” he had said.

He also spoke about the Strategic Partnership (SP) model which has been introduced in the Defence Production Policy under which the private sector will be able to manufacture fighter aircraft, helicopters, submarines and armoured vehicles and emerge as global giants.

What is the use of all these deployments when Indian will not fire at intruding Chinese? They captured 1000sqkm Indian territory and all India did was to ask for dozens of rounds of talks to go back !
