Monsoon conditions have made their destructive way along India’s coast this past week. Monsoonal flooding risk has renewed, according to AccuWeather, as a monsoon low from the Bay of Bengal is set to cross India. The Indian Air Force and other organizations have been carrying out rescue operations in the aftermath.

In partnership with the National Disaster Response Force, the Air Force rescued some 400 people during heavy rains in Gujarat the weekend of July 16, according to India.com. Operations included one Indian Air Force Mi-17V5 that air lifted four people who were stranded in Bharada.

Four Indian Air Force helicopters also went to work in Rayagada, Odisha, multiple news outlets reported. As flash floods poured out of rivers Nagavali and Kalyani, 12 villages were in Kalyansinghpur and Rayagada were reportedly marooned. The helicopters were called in for air dropping.
