India world’s largest arms importer: Swedish think tank

Why are u guys jumping...????

Our defense budget is just 1.8% of GDP but normally it should have been 3%....
But our nieghbour has more than 3% GDP of defense spending...

If that was true our budget would be around 200 billion dollars.

Do you really want to believe that?

Yes we are very jealous that we don't spend inordinate amounts on arms that we build ourselves.:frown:

i india we dont buy everything directly from the vendor..for example scorpenes are made in india, and the MMRCA first 12 will direct from shelf....rest of them will be built here....

Our Govt want to equip our forces with best...
We have all options...Russia,american,European and our domestic...
We want the best.. and affordable..
After the experience of building heli,HAL has come up with LCH..there are 175 firm order for it..
and about 175 Dhruv on order....
$4 billion worth brahmos on order... and many more

Even when we buy from foreign vendors we make sure some amount of money is pumped back into our economy...

Another sign of a deep inferiority complex, because they drag out the British imposed "democratic" mafia regime, because in everything else, this certain country can never compete with us.

I think we will retain this title for few more years. As our indigenous defense production will increase, so will our demand, our expenditure and so will our imports.
