And it had been happening since ever, and the fact is that was the one of the main reason for creating Pakistan. To become a PM you need a wide support base across the length and breadth of the country. To get half the seats by a single party is very difficult considering that there are regional parties in every state. Last time before 2014 a single party won the majority was 30 years ago was in 1984 when Rajiv Gandhi won in sympathy wave of his mother's death.

Any leader has to cater to different sections. Unfortunately muslim leaders don't try to look at other sections. they keep on saying that Muslims are in danger because of BJP so give me the vote. Sudddenly we see that there are 10 parties saying the same thing so muslim vote splits 10 ways.

In such a situation it is difficult for a muslim to be a PM till he is willing to work with all communities.

Reasonable explanation. But that also means you won't have a muslim PM well atleast in the short medium future.

Hey I am a "Sanghi" and proud of it, if by sanghi you mean a BJP supporter. If you think I am a member of the RSS then let me tell you - I am not a member, I have never attended a shakha, infact never even looked at RSS website or twitter feed.

BTW I had a genuine question about the half parsi. If Rajiv is Half Parsi then Rahul is half italian.

Rajiv became the PM because of 2 things and 2 things only and he did not have any control over them
1 His brother died before him
2 his mother was assasinated

Rajiv Gandhi never referred to his Parsi Heritage. Infact the congress party as a whole has worked hard to erase any trace of Feroze Gandhy. They just changed the spelling of his last name so that the gulliable masses could be fooled into thinking that they were somehow related to Mahatma Gandhi.

Rajiv's Parsi side lives in Poona. And related to my wife's side of the family.

There is no doubt that he was brought up as a Hindu. It's only the blood I was referring to.

Patrilineal lineage makes zero sense biologically.

A child grows into the culture of his mother. Even if she is no Indira ....
