Purchasing Power Parity is a better way of looking at GDP. According to CIA World Factbook this is the per capita income (PPP) of the three countries:

Pakistan: $4,264
Bangladesh: $4,723
India: $6,835

So Bangladesh has pulled ahead of Pakistan but not by as much as the original post suggests. Handing over the country to notorious criminals is the reason for Pakistan's stunted economy. Even with Imran Khan in power, Pakistan's biggest city is still in the firm grip of Pakistan's biggest criminal. Zardari, and his homo son. Until the day Karachi is liberated Pakistan's economy will not progress.

Plus GDP per capita does not tell the whole story, GDP (Purchasing Power Parity) is a much better comparison to gauge an economy.

Pakistan did not do that bad during 2001-2015 which is surprising considering we were almost in a full fledge internal + external war. I remember there used to be days in which we used to have several bomb blasts everyday constantly! That was a depressing time period, chaos after chaos, live media coverage of carnage! Not a single day would past by without people dying and injuring in a blast! The onslaught of Afghan war had a huge impact on Pakistanis. I remember reading in a newspaper the scene of a bomb blast on a railway station. Where body parts and severed heads of people were hanging from trees, power lines and so on... they were blown apart with such a force! The thought still gives me shivers. Extremely traumatic to say the least!

Despite an extremely complex socio-economic and political war against Pakistan, I have to say we are a resilient nation! Despite the fact that we often start doubting ourselves, we have given more than 80,000 lives, 100s and thousands of catastrophically injured and we have still survived by the grace of God, Alhmadolillah! On one side we have trained and rugged soldiers of US forces nestled in upwards of 17500 USD worth of gear, best possible armoured vehicles and what not. And even majority of them go back and say they have PTSD. Alhamdulillah despite having hundreds & of thousands of people who lived through those blasts and got handicapped, we are still standing tall!

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, our enemies will come to know about this soon InShaAllah!

Looking at the bars, it is very clear that Pakistan has gone down rapidly after 2008 , after Musharraf offered NRO to the thieves. The wholesale loot started and Pakistan has ended up far behind.

The thieves still say "They have progressed Pakistan".

Musharraf himself was the biggest theif. He has billions of NAB cases pending against him for property and land embezzelment.

We slowed down because terrorism had started in 2008. We have had a loss of $200B to our economy.
