India Upgrades Military to Match China

That is for another thread no point in talking about it now, my point is that we are boosting our military not for war but to deter others. As our economy grows so will our defence budget and one must remember alot of out equipment is quite old and outdated from Soviet era this all needs modernising.

Is that the Indian Response to everything? Lets get this straight India does not have even the Industrial and scientific base to successfully reverse engineer a full product successfully. It has attempted to many times and failed miserably, most commonly having to consult the original designers for design and components help. Notable examples being design help from the Frence on the LCA, and the German engines used in all Arjuns.

Well Modi is all about business he has excellent relations with Chinese business people also in fact GIFT city is being designed with the help of the developers of Shanghai.

China already uses domestic engines on the majority of the aircraft it uses. The one exception would be the AL 31s that the J 10 has and even those are to be replaced this year with the introduction of the WS 10B on the J 10B. India has no domestic engines on any of its aircraft. That is a rather large difference.

Last time I checked, a "Purchase" involves a delivery of goods and in exchange for such goods a payment of other goods (barter) or monies is made. Afterwards there is an exchange of title and ownership rights to said goods. Neither has happened on any of those weapons mentioned and won't happen for years to come. My point is that regardless of this purchase, there won't be a war in at least 10-20 years.
