India, Turkmenistan signs joint agreement on key bilateral, regional issues

Best of luck with your sub sea pipeline. We won't be allowing you to take it through our SEZ, therefore you'd have to take it to Oman first through world's busiest shipping route.

Pakistan is nobody to refuse India-Oman-Iran pipeline passage through its EEZ.

It is clearly stated in International law/Treaties that a country enjoys sovereignty only over waters that are 12 Nm seaward from its coast.

In EEZ, a country has exclusive right to only "exploit" natural resources. It cannot interfere in freedom of navigation, and could not block undersea cables or pipeline.(ART 58 of UNCLOS| I cannot post link. just google EEZ + Pipeline and read second link)

In short; India could lay down its pipeline 23 Km away from Pakistani shore and Pakistan could do squat to prevent India from doing so.

That territory is patrolled by our Navy, whoever tries to come in without our permission will end up at the bottom of the Arabian sea. India will not be allowed to take a pipe from our territory, from either ground or sea. Teach that your thick skull.

Probably you need to buy Idiot's guide to sea law/UNCLOS since you seem to be unwilling or incapable of understanding international law .

"Your" territory ends 12 nautical miles ie 22.2 Km out to sea. India ,or anyone else, could not lay down pipes or cables in only that territory without your permission. You cannot prevent India ,or anyone, from laying down a pipeline even 23 Km away from your coastline.

You seem to have a faulty understanding of what "maritime EEZ" is. It is not a territory where you you have any extraordinary/exclusive rights except that of exploiting "natural resources" like fishing. You cannot "legally" prevent any country from navigation, laying down cables, or laying down pipelines in your EEZ. You could certainly attack that pipeline and go to war with country which owns that pipleline, but you can do that even to a pipeline that is outside your EEZ.

And area patrolled by Navy does not count for anything during peace time. Even Iran has sent its Navy till the edge of USA's territorial water. This does not mean that Iran controls Atlantic ocean.

That's a rare fantasy admin...our Akulas may cease your moment here...ohh did I forget Arihant.
Chill...

.
FYI: No nation can even lay down mines in their territorial waters let alone international water.....
This was decided by the ICJ in the Corfu Channel Case... and affirmed again in Nicaragua v. USA case....

Pakistan has AIP subs, Akula will never hear what hit em. Besides entering our SEZ and targeting our navy = an act of war.

Feel free to live in that fantasy, Pakistan won't allow an Indian pipe within an inch of our SEZ. Any such attempt will be dealt with as a military threat.

SSKs are quieter than SSNs only when they are lying in wait with their Engines shut off. In normal condition SSNs are quieter than SSKs. So unless you have a premonition about location of a SSN, you could not use a SSK to hunt it down.

You seem to have a very little idea about how ASW works. Submarines are rarely ,if ever, used to hunt down other submarines. Only exception is SSNs and SSBNs as only SSN has range to hunt down a SSN or SSBN. ASW is primarily responsibility of Surface ASW ships , ASW choppers , and planes like P-3C orion with you or P8-I and Tupelov with India.SSKs only complement them.

Primary job of SSKs is to lie in wait around enemy's harbour and trade route in order to sink enemy's shipping. They are incapable of giving a chase to surface ships like a SSN could do , or to reposition themselves swiftly if they want to move to another location.

And AIP is not a magic tech. Maximum speed possible under AIP mode of navigation is around 5 Knots, which is equivalent to 9Km/hr. This is walking speed. Unless your quarry is stupid enough to stumble into your path, it is all but useless. Forget about hunting down a SSN with thrice your speed.

Besides entering our SEZ and targeting our navy = an act of war.

Targeting your navy = Act of war.

Entering your SEZ ≠ Act of war.

IN enters your SEZ on weekly basis. You seem to be having a very poor grasp on international law.

What ever I have stated is 100% correct. It is your lack of capability or daftness because of which you could not understand international law or meaning of a simple term.

EEZ ≠ Territorial water.

Your territory only extends 12 nautical miles out to sea. EEZ is part of international water where you have been granted exclusive right to only exploit Natural resources. You are explicitly forbidden from interfering with freedom of Navigation, overflight, and with laying down of Submarine cables or Pipelines.

And FYI, Submarine pipelines have noting to do with EEZ. EEZ is regarding surface while piplelines are undersea. Pipelines are guided by chapter VI of UNCLOS ,not Chapter V.

The maximum extent of continental shelf over which you have economic right is either 350 nautical miles, 100 miles from 2500m isobath, having sediment thickness of 1% from shortest distance from foot; whichever is lowest.

All States are entitled to lay submarine cables and pipelines on the continental shelf, in accordance with the provisions of this article.

Source:Article 79; Part VI; Official treaty document of UNCLOS.

So there is no legal way by which you could prevent India from laying down pipeline through your EEZ/Continental shelf. You certainly has option of going to war for which you would have zero international support, against a country whose Navy would smash your Navy within a day.

India may not use your EEZ for technical reasons as Submarine plateau and abyssal plains are preferred for laying down pipelines, and for having a pipeline out of your Navy's reach during war, but if it wants to, you could not do anything about it except demanding that India submit detailed map of pipeline route to you.

Try sending your ships into our SEZ without our permissions. You will find out our response. This is the only tangible way to find out what Pakistan can do to protect our waters.

. .
Lets GoI decide ,If they allows it through Pakistan then we dont have any problem.
It's already been decided .
For those who didn't know this project is very important for all the countries involved in it .Security is not a huge concern , if it was the pipeline would be diverted.Looks good .

Not as silent as the Akula the AIP just ensures it dives deeper but Akuka has Japanese silencing technology

Russian attack submarine slipped past US Navy and patrolled Gulf of Mexico for weeks undetected | Daily Mail Online

In 1983–1984 the Japanese firm Toshiba sold sophisticated, nine axis milling equipment to the Soviets along with the computer control systems, which were developed by Norwegian firm Kongsberg Vaapenfabrik. U.S Navy officials and Congressmen announced that this technology enabled the Soviet submarine builders to produce more accurate and quieter propellers

Comparing a diesel submarine even with AIP to the nuclear Akula is like apples and oranges

TAPI has the key insurance and is backed by the ADB and Russia unlike IPI so it is more probable but security concern is a risk.

How old are you? Do you even understand what maritime laws are?

I don't think you understand what an EEZ is.
You do not have the right to deny any kind of international trade in your SEZ. No country does.

Its only upto the Territorial sea that Pakistan can deny any country the use of trade.

That territory is patrolled by our Navy, whoever tries to come in without our permission will end up at the bottom of the Arabian sea. India will not be allowed to take a pipe from our territory, from either ground or sea. Teach that your thick skull.
Again, that territory may be patrolled by PN, however by international law PN cannot stop or hinder in any form the international trade in its EEZ.

Any action contrary to the UNCLOS will invite automatic international sanctions.

So , yes. India can choose to build right through Pakistan's EEZ.
