The Indian train network is of British colonial era dating of 1930's technology. Instead of investing in its infrastructure and particularly in train network, India, a country whose population is living in bollywood dreams, is wasting billions in weapons procurement from Russia and now from the US and Israel. By contrast Chines people are now travelling in futuristic Bullet trains. India should consider putting some money in its mass train transport, as its actual rail network is an ABJECT SHAME for humanity and for a country which is supposed to be a world superpower. The Indian mass train transportation is killing thousand each year, Indians find it normal to travel crowded in small wagons with human defecation, dirtiness, rats etc as companions, Indian passengers have to climb on top of roof trains and even put their heads through the window to breathe just like animals being transported to slaughterhouse. The Indian politicians and Government which are so keen to invest every rupee in weapons procurement should one day consider traveling by train to experience the hell imposed to the ordinary Indians.

Atleast we have a railway, that too profit making. What about Pakistan Railway? Last I heard GoP is seriously considering privatizing or shutting down PR altogether as it is a big drain on natural resources.
