India train crash: Death Toll Raised To 309 After Odisha incident

When you put more effort in selling PR of Kavach to public instead of installing them...
Om Shanti
The Kovach has still not been rolled out fully, I am sure for a massive country like ours it will take years to fully implement.

. .
RIP to the victims, I hope they get a through investigation so changes can be made, and these lives will not be lost completely in vain.

.
RIP

More likely due to broken of railway signaling system

That is because those damned people who rule our unfortunate country have spent their time on vanity projects intended to flatter the Prime Minister and to give him photo opportunities, rather than concentrating on mundane things like passenger safety and cleanliness on trains.

How I hate them.

Watch how they react, like polished circus animals, avoiding any breath of blame, shrugging off responsibility, thinking devious thoughts of how to turn things to their electoral advantage - the only things they can do, being completely incompetent in any and every sphere of public administration.

I do not believe in God.

If there had been a God, these rulers of ours would have their flesh torn off with red-hot pincers and burnt before their eyes, before being torn apart by four horses.
God does not work the way you want him to be. All mishaps are due to our negligence.. stop blaming God committed by man's faults. Refrain from simply venting your frustrations on someone's else.

When I want to be lectured on God, I will surely think of you.

majority of bakhtoras start cheering and trolling Pakistan (I fully remember reaction on PIA accident a couple of years ago)
Although my heart is filled with grief and rage, as far as those animals you mentioned are concerned, I spit on them. The world should spit on them.

Why is it that in 3rd world countries, fatalities are high a similar mishaps in advanced countries you do not hear that many deaths?

India is the world's most populous country in the world. Unsurprisingly, their British-era railway infrastructure is struggling to keep-up with the explosion of babies.

Plus, I very much doubt their train carriages are built with the latest safety standards in mind.

Eye witness account:

As a passenger on the Coromandel Express from Howrah to Chennai, I am extremely thankful to have escaped unscathed. It probably is the biggest train accident related incident. Thread of how the incident unfolded .
Three trains were involved in the accident - Coromandel Express 12841, Yesvantpur - Howrah SF and a goods train. Initial impressions are that the Coromandel express derailed and collided with the Goods train (parked on the loop track on the side)

Subsequently the derailed coaches hit the oncoming Yesvantpur express on the nearby track. 3 general coaches of Yesvantpur express are completely damaged and derailed. Almost 13 coaches of Coromandel express including General, Sleeper, AC 3 tier and AC 2 tier are completely damaged. Not to exaggerate but I have myself witnessed more than 200-250 deaths. Families crushed away, limbless bodies and a bloodbath on the train tracks. It was a sight that I will never forget.

Eh the accident has less to do with "explosion of babies" in a country who's TFR is now at replacement rate.
And, no its not British era infra. And that pic is very old.
Plus, I very much doubt their train carriages are built with the latest safety standards in mind.
Cause of derailment is still not known.

Dada, sabar, dua for now.
More money should be put into upgrading infras other than buying foreign weapons.
Not the place for point scoring. Have some shame.
I remember when such accidents happen in Pakistan majority of bakhtoras start cheering and trolling Pakistan (I fully remember reaction on PIA accident a couple of years ago) but honestly I myself found my heart in grief and distress after listening this news.
Thank you, you've exemplified what Pakistaniat is all about.

You quoted other user, but i still want to answer.

Railway lines and trains are from British era in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh.
Mostly Indian considers they have good trains, but all these 3 countries have scraps.

It will be good if railway lines are replaced with new ones and trains should be privatized.

Not the time or place to try to score points. A sad day for the ordinary citizens of India. Thoughts and prayers for the families effected. Dreadful news
I said the truth, it's avoidable with adequate funds and investment. mourning alone won't help, it's better to think about how to prevent it from happening again in the future.
Similar incident hit China in 2011 resulting in 40 deaths, it prompted nationwide overhaul of the railway system, dozens of officials were severely punished and some thrown into the jail. no major railway incidents happen again ever since.
