India to unveil world's tallest statue

The statue will probably pay for itself through tourism, and countries do need iconic sites to feel proud of their history.

Who is the statue of? And where will it be located?

I have just found that the top 3 tallest statues till now are all of Buddha..one in Japan,one in China and one in Myanmar..and three of them were built in the last decade..I felt happy knowing Chinese are still valueing Buddha even after they have converted to communism(atheism)..proud to be from the land of buddha
