The statue is fantastic and very important projects presently. I know its difficult to digest when India reaches Mars on first attempt.
We want more such projects "Biggest, Fastest, Strongest" in India to bring out India from service Industry oriented to the cutting edge industries (Samsung opened its biggest factory in India recently). Cutting Edge Industries are needed to help the country to improve its education and skills in general for its population, then only the problems India faces will go.
Though my reply was clear and your response seems like you are too much fixated on problems India faces, I know you wont change your opinion, but still let me point out for every one's awareness: India has included the complete population under direct Banking System with
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
1. In 2013 the food to all was covered under National Food Security Act, 2013 (earlier also there was public distribution system)
"The
National Food Security Act, 2013 (also
Right to Food Act) is an
Act of the
Parliament of India which aims to provide
subsidized food grains to approximately two thirds of
India's 1.2 billion people.
[1] It was signed into law on 12 September 2013,
retroactive to 5 July 2013.

2. For Kids alone:::::: The public expenditure for the Mid Day Meal Programme has gone up from ₹73.24 billion(US$1.0 billion) in 2007–08 to ₹132.15 billion (US$1.8 billion) in 2013–14.

Mind you the Govt. of the day has made the system more transparent linking benefits with biometric system AADAHAR to finish of corruption.
3.
Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana is an insurance scheme covers all Indians started by the Govt. of the Day with as low as 12 Rs. per annum payment.
4.
Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PMJAY) is proposed to subsume RSBY and provide a health insurance cover of ₹0.5 million (US$7,000) each to 10 crore families.

5. The needy get direct benefits by their personal bank accounts
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
These are steps India has taken for its Poor people, well you cant appreciate the amount of Budget being spent on the above by the Govt.
Well we Indians have a different thinking with the Govt. of the Day. Solar Electricity Prices per Unit have almost equaled to Coal based power plants. So much so that going beyond Coal based prices has not been feasible in latest biddings. Anyways things will further improve. A solar cell just converts sunlight into electricity, in India a tech which converts heat into electricity on a smaller scale would be amazing so that it can be implemented
in situ (on a larger scale tech is already there to produce electricity from Fuel power stations).
Good for you. Tell that to the millions dying of hunger.
Same as the new currency notes had a nano chip?? Fool yourself.
