I can't understand how the expansion of Chahbahar port would nullify the challenges posed by Gawadar.

Sir, even though the narrative of the reports pits both ports against each other, but the fact remains, that both ports serve almost identical purpose for China and India which is extending influence towards Gulf of Oman and making inr0ads to Central Asia.
I won't use the word challenges but rather opportunity that both countries are desperately looking for to further economic advantages it will bring.

Why not just invest in a Port for regional prosperity?

Thats an ideal way to move forward.
