The moot question is, why is Pakistan doing this? Reason is pretty simple. For industry to perform you need electricity. 32% of electricity, in Pakistan, is generated with natural gas.
For the next 4 years, there is no solution, except to import natural gas to power the stations and the economy. In this scenario, there are no choices. Even with the gasification facilities coming online will take time. The need of the hour is NOW. Anybody, debating against these deals, is out of his mind if he/she wants Pakistan to move forward.
