India to rush troops to Ladakh if no de-escalation on face-off

Well according to most of the Indian members I have seen and talked here , it is merely difference in perception of Line of Actual Control and not intrusion .

Difference of perception is understandable if the transgression is of 1-2 kilometres. But 10 kilometres ? Sounds like deliberate provocation.

I would agree that 10 km is actually a lot in terms of military perception .

You mean to say that 2 nuclear power states armies are sitting eyeball to eyeball claiming right to the same piece of land, which has no demarcation to verify the claims anyway?

Now where have I heard this before?:raise:

Sad to see Pakistanis ( our former Indian brothers) supporting China , a foreign power. Sad.

You are talking about Indo-Pak border? Isn't our Line of Control demarcated ?

What else is an intrusion in an unmarked IB / LAC ?

Pak till today considers Siachen an intrusion into what it considers as its territory.

Considering the ramifications the GOI is playing it down in the hope that diplomacy resolves things , yet plans must be afoot for contingencies.

How do you expect me to explain it ? I said that most members said that it was quite normal and happened on both sides , even though I am yet to read either Chinese or Indian media claiming otherwise .

Siachin is different from this issue , keep it for other threads .

First of all it was just a light hearted remark without taking anyone’s side but i guess the nature of this page is a bit sensitive so i’ll try to be more careful in future.

Btw i was referring to siachin and to my best knowledge it isn’t demarcated

Oh yes, you are right about Siachen.

And yes , i was kidding too. But I understand most Pakistanis will support China. It's understandable. Thanks for your being considerate anyway :)

I gave an example of siachen to draw a parallel only.

An intrusion is normal and happens at times even along defined borders. Pitching a tent is not.

Its escalating, LAC violations are regular occurrences BUT this time there seems to be obstinacy from the other side..China has accused us of aggressive patrolling and the flag meetings have been uncharacteristically unproductive. One way or the other though- the resolution will come about. But this is vitiating the atmosphere here...we already have the US pushing us hard to start getting belligerent in action rather than words..something our government does not want to engage in given the atmosphere at the parliament (pertaining to various issues).

What is the current situation on the ground ? I heard about the choppers entering the Indian airspace some hours ago though . Seems serious this time to me , somehow . What sort of resolution are you looking at , mate ? I do not expect the Indian Govt to join the encirclement of China with Western countries just by this episode , even if you do not like to admit it , you both are important for each other for reasons of trade .

The GOI is under immense internal pressure...if this is not resolved quickly then it will get us into that group..escort us right in. The opposition party here has been famously pro US..already DBO sector specific air assets are mobilizing- our forces are camped just 300 meters away from the 50 member Chinese group. Hopefully we will not have to open fire..at the moment that's all I can say.
