India, Myanmar ink 12 agreements
Nay Pyi Taw, May 28 (ANI): India and Myanmar on Monday signed twelve agreements, including a 500 million dollar credit line and an air services agreement.
The first agreement was on India Myanmar border area development, while the second was an air services agreement.
The third agreement is aimed at setting up a Myanmar Institute of Information Technology, while the fourth was on establishment of the Advance Centre of Agriculture Research and Education, Yezin Agriculture University, Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.
The fifth MoU between the both nations was for the establishment of a rice bio park (paddy and rural property) at Department of Agricultural Research, while sixth was for establishing border haats across the border between both nations.
The seventh MoU was for the establishment of a joint trade and investment forum, while the eight related to a cultural exchange programme for the years 2012-15.
The ninth agreement was for cooperation between the Institute of Defence Studies andnalyses and the Myanmar Institute of Strategic And International Studies
The tenth agreement relates to a USD 500 million credit line between the Export -Import Bank of India and the Myanmar Foreign Trade Bank, while the eleventh MoU, was signed between Calcutta University and Dagon University.
The twelfth and final agreement was for promoting cooperation between the Indian Council of World Affairs and the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies. By Naveen Kapoor (ANI)
