India to propose railway link between Kabul and Chittagong

Why not India join the great IPI dream?

Where i suppose 'I' stands for India.

.
Bhai, India ko jo propose karna hai karenge. Now the ball is in Pak's court coz Afgan and Bangladesh will obviously say yes.

Now dont say India this India that. If this project materialises it wud be only with Pak's consent.

Now Kashmir issue is going status quo. U guyz can try another innovative attempt in Kashmir. Till now it havent done a millimetre.

If you guyz want progress in your country through India, you are welcome coz Indian govt is ready.

Otherwise you can live in pipdreams of this happening in future, that happening in future. Pak-China this that.

We all know, Indo-Pak conditions are more favorable and similar than Sino-Pak. So trade and communication with India is more worthy, profitable, cost effective and homogenous than any other country.

Decision is yours. Aage badhna hai ya current growth continue karni hai. :P :D :D

That is not true, I know this is what has been stated by many Pakistanis but Railways have doubled its tracked and converted all narrow into Broad. I am not in favour of broad, not for Pakistan not even for India. It is actually blocking these country connection with outside world.

This is a big joke. No such thing happened.

Pakistan Railways – the route ahead | CIPE Development Blog

Pakistan Railways network in terms of its route-kilometres (8557 in 1947 versus 7791 in 2010) has in fact decreased since independence. This is primarily due to abandonment of the narrow gauge lines. Similarly, its total track-kilometres (12,135 in 1947 versus 11,713 in 2010) have also reduced since independence.

Please also google how much of this 8557 KM was narrow guage

I posted the map of Pakistan railway, which shows closed railway lines in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Constructing railway lines in mountains is very expensive, we are investing billions of dollars to construct railway lines in Kashmir and North-East India but Pakistan abandoned those mountain railway lines inherited directly from British, certainly a bad planning.

At the time of partition, North Western Railway’s 1847 route mile was transferred to India leaving route miles 5048 to Pakistan. In 1954 The railway line was extended to Mardan and Charsada section and in 1956 Jacababad-Kashmore 2’-6’’ line was converted into broad gauge. Kot Adu-Kashmore line was constructed between 1969 to 1973 providing an alternate route from Karachi to up country.

What is the current gauge of track use by India, Pakistan and Afghanistan?

India: 95% Broad Gauge, remaining Metre gauge and narrow gauge. all metre gauge and narrow gauge is being changed to Indian broad gauge under project Unigauge.

Pakistan: Indian Broad gauge.

Afghanistan: Only one railway connectivity with Mazar e Sharif and Uzbekistan in Russian gauge

I know this but overall Pakistan railway network was reduced in last 65 years.
