India to make a big step towards N-arm triad in Feb and achieve it in next

Some things are better not said in the open..;)

yaa like International treaties will stop us arming nuke on this submarine ... actually the russian one(the same submarine) .. carries ... 3000 km nuke armed cruise missiles on the same sub ... with 40 odd torpedoes ... we can certainly armed ours with Nuke tipped Shaurya ...

Agree bro, we should carry at least 1 nuclear missile in the sub with name "Destination Pakistan" written on it.

Lease to India
Three hundred Indian Navy personnel are being trained in Russia for the operation of the Akula I Improved submarine Nerpa. India has finalized a deal with Russia, in which at the end of the lease of these submarines, it has an option to buy them. The submarine will be named INS Chakra as was the previous India-leased Soviet Charlie-I SSGN.[15]
Whereas the Russian Navy's Akula-II could be equipped with 28 nuclear-capable cruise missiles with a striking range of 3,000 km (1,620 nmi; 1,864 mi), the Indian version was reportedly expected to be armed with the 300 km (162 nmi; 186 mi)-range 3M-54 Klub nuclear-capable missiles..[16] Missiles with ranges greater than 300 km (162 nmi; 186 mi) cannot be exported due to arms control restrictions, since Russia is a signatory to the MTCR treaty.

.
But while it will bolster the country's underwater firepower, it's not armed with nuclear-tipped missiles due to international treatises.
Nerpa cannot fire nuclear missile because of treatise... otherwise India already has completed the nuclear triads because the K-15 missile is already ready and Nerpa was delivered to India a couple days back...

No, Nerpa can fire nuclear tipped missiles, and India will installe its k-15, or sourya missiles in it.
And by the way the MTCR treaty does not privente us to armed Nerpa with nuke missiles and also nor thus the treaty with Russia preavent us to do that.
.
Only condition is that missiles of range greater than 300km should be indigenous.

Pathetic warmongering insects.

Unlike China, which doesn't have nuclear submarines...oh wait...they have a lot more than us.

Unlike pakistan, which doesn't have nukes...oh wait, they have nukes, and no declared no first use policy.

Yea, so India is the warmongering nation. Because it will never use nukes until and unless one of our cities goes up in a mushroom cloud first. Truly warmongering indeed.

And how exactly are "insects" warmongering anyway? Learn not to mix metaphors when you attempt to insult.

.
so much for the big mouthed peaceful nation.

This is classic!!!!

Having a sub based deterrence is to ensure a second strike hence this gives India the ability to have a "No First Strike" policy. Unlike our dear neighbor, who conducts diplomacy under the garb of a nuclear umbrella. So who is the big mouthed peaceful nation now? :smitten:

Just enjoy the fun buddy..Isnt it new year ? :D.

Booze and light trolling go well together.

it is sometimes accompanied by counter trolling and banning as well.

All the people here who are thinking that Nerpa will be armed with nuke tipped missiles are dead wrong and most probably not aware to the fact that Russia is a signatory to NPT and that's why it's obliged to make sure that none of its weapon platforms sold/leased to other countries are armed with nuclear weapons. So it will better for you guys to stop thinking that Russia will let us arm its Nerpa SSN with nuke tipped K 15 missiles for good. You may very well disagree with me and continue to think otherwise but in the end you will only get disapointment.
But one thing is for sure,Nerpa is not for training purpose only.It will give the IN significant sea denial capability and in times of war,the Nerpa will become enemy's night mare.But still it won't complete our nuclear triad. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

No India cannot...

Who said we are only bounded by MTCR ??? Russia gave us a nuke sub, thats in itself is a big offer. Russia has itself put alot of restrictions on the sub. Bottom-line the weapons that are coming and at max Brahmos will be fired from Nerpa...

Care to explain these bold lines. Up-till now I had not came to know of any restriction by Russia on use of nuclear missiles in Nerpa.
If there is any restriction regarding this and you know that please care to explain it.

Angi is completely right bro.You need to learn a lot more.He doesn't need to provide a source for his statement because it's a simple fact.Read my above post.Russia is a signatory to NPT and there by it's bound to restrict arming of its weapon platforms sold/leased to other countries with nuclear weapons. So Russia can not only won't provide any nukes on Nerpa but also they are bound to stop us from doing the same.Is it that hard to get in head??!!
By the way,let me ask you a simple question-can you provide a source which states that Nerpa will be armed with nuke tipped missiles and prove me and Angi wrong??
