India to get its first bullet train: A look at bullet trains from around the world

Bullet trains are sensitive in terms of safety concerns, I just can't keep panicking during the entire journey!!:mad::mad:
lol... dont worry... as i said .. we will get Japanese bullet train...
so don't get panicked.... but i read Chinese assistance will be taken in signals and track management...:D:D

You don't think we can make roads unsafe?! IS that a challenge, well challenge accepted, bro.

When will people gain the intelligence to differentiate topic related to defence and not related to defence?

Moved to correct section.

good news for India!

Not exactly, this project would have made much sense if the growth rate was 8+%. As the growth rate plummeted, extending the range of freight corridor, making new industrial zones would have been a better choice. The cost of ticket will be near to that of flight, and i don't see any apparent advantage over flight over a distance of 500 km.

India doesn't need Chinese 'investment' or Chinese money. India is a proud country, and India doesn't beg. China is not guaranteed to grant India loans even if asked nicely.

India has enough money in the Swiss banks to pay for all investments needed.

Modi-ji will do the needful...

the most beautiful train ever built.....really perfection.

India already has a very advanced semi-bullet type train. If the IITs are given the resources, they can easily double or triple the speed and propel India to the top league. Under Modiji, Indian Railways will surpass Chinese Railways by 2020. I'm very happy and very sure about this.India should also sell the semi-bullet technology to other countries. Maybe even China and Japan have needs for such an advanced semi-bullet type.

it is estimated at 125 crore per km & 300+km/h :cheesy:

Does cost decreases with extra km? Anyway in that case Pakistan bullet train from Karachi-Peshawar will cost $35 billion. I don't know why my stupid brother promised bullet train in election. The only good thing is this will cover pretty much all of major Pakistan cities with just one such a project.

Maybe in 5 years time.

. China is investing $38 billion in Pak-China corridor till 2017. Which include $3.65 billion for Karachi-Lahore-Peshawar rail track upgration. And dozen other mega projects.

So no way China will provide $35 billion for just 1 project, maybe after 5 years. After all it will also help them because of Pak-China corridor.

Completely agree.
The entire focus should have been on doubling of lines everywhere and make a dedicated freight network.

The second focus should have been modernizing the existing n/w to increase speed of passenger trains to over 160kmph which can be done on existing tracks.

It was a populist budget per me.
