It means india does not make everything itself and there is nothing wrong about buying warship from the outside..

I don't see what the problem is in buying foreign warships . Most countries buy foreign warships.
You can question the amount of money spend on them, $60 billion is 4% of gdp. But no problem in buying foreign , especially if you want them quickly .

India is in the middle of modernising her Navy. A large number of orders for warships of various tonnage ranging from a 40,000 ton aircraft carrier(Vikrant) to missile destroyers to stealth frigates to fast patrol boats to nuclear and diesel-electric submarines are all under construction in Indian dockyards. Furthermore, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is witnessing an expansion of exponential proportions. ICG vessels for maritime coastal security also get built in the same dockyards. The dockyards themselves are in the process of absorbing the advanced technologies involved in modern ship building. All this is happening simultaneously. Involvement of Indian private shipbuilders would have eased the congestion somewhat and the government is working on that. what we are therefore witnessing is a bulge or a bottleneck in the supply chain of naval combatants in India as too many ships are being built at the same time. As the projects get finalised one after another and the dockyards master the techniques involved, things will easy out. However the capacities being built in India for indigenous shipbuilding will stand us in good stead. The next decade will see us taking on orders for building warships for other friendly countries.

I know you posted it with good intentions but you should know who is 2nd biggest weapons importer before saying india is not china...and may be next time you should replace everything with warships.

I know you are a troll most of the time, so I shouldn't react to this. But your statement is equally stupid as an Indian statement I read yesterday stating 50 Indian warships was equal to 100 Chinese warships using the same logic (the opponents technology is inferior )
