What's new

India takes over operations of Iran’s strategic Chabahar Port

Its not Pakistani winters I am comparing it with.

Again, its not trade with Afghanistan that I am talking about.

Now its my turn to suggest you to relax and re-read this discussion. You certainly having a decent grasp at English comprehension and can do better than what you are doing right now.

As expected, you have reverted back to verbal gymnastics.

You have zero understanding of what you are talking about. I suggest you limit yourself to petty trolling since you have nothing to contribute to the discussion.

And furthermore, I have already pointed out that Iran is under US sanctions and Afghanistan is unsafe territory even after a trillion dollar. These ground realities are not going to change anytime soon either. Now go improve your "English comprehension".

Well, when you fail to understand and follow what is being discussed here while rest of the members can, I don't know what to say. Here is a hint: The particular discussion you commented about had nothing to do with Afghanistan or Iran. And here is another hint: Khunjerab Pass is on China-Pakistan border.
Have a nice day!

As expected, in the absense of any real argument on Chabahar you have opted to shove your Gangu head into the sand so let me spell it out for you once again: You are trolling. You have no argument. If you had one you would stated it clearly a long time ago. You have none. You have been told repeatedly Iran is under US sanctions and Afghanistan is unsafe territory even after a trillion dollar spent. Neither of these realities is going to change anytime. There is no alternative to Pakistani routes for CARs or Afghanistan. I don't need to drop "hints" to confront your failed gangunomics.

And, yes, do enjoy the rest of your day.

Last hint : That discussion was not about Chabahar.

This..

CPEC is not exactly one road and port. It is a much bigger project.

That said, Chinese project while shoddily executed in engineering terms are an un-planned and un-mitigated disasters in terms of long term thinking. Sri-Lankan port, Airport, African investments and their own ghost towns come to mind.

China basically is trying to grow its influence..; actually its not even China. Its Xi-DingDong's own prestige. Its a top-down planning. No wonder it blunders on the simplest things.

Will be interesting to see if Talibs can afford to attack shipments and thus alienating Iran in process. In short, a die has been case. Will have to see how the game unfolds.

. . .
Finally we can say that we have true Ally in the Middle East.

i want to see Vikramaditya in Chahbhar one day, we also need to reserve some space of the port for permanent navy base to protect our Interest.

Iran will never allow a foreign military base on Iranian soil. It is banned under the Iranian constitution.

My guess is that after 18 months Iran will not renew the contract and the IRGC will remove the Indians from operating Shahid Beheshti port and take over operations themselves under a front company.

There is very little prospect that Indians will be allowed to operate phase 1 for the proposed 10 year period that will be considered after the initial 18 month agreement has expired. As soon as the port starts making money the IRGC will take it over IMO.

Indians seems to think Iran is their puppet. Iran is a sovereign country, this is a commercial port not a military port, any tom dick and harry can invest and run it for profit, even China. These Indians keep on thinking it's a military base or something, they basically subsidized Iranian infrastructure for free.

It's not upto Iran to decide what happens in Iran? LOL

The Iranian constitution forbids foreign military bases. There will never be an Indian navy base at Chahbahar.

The way some Indian people here are excited and talk about Chabahar is surprising. These guys need to realize two simple things:

1) There are two ports at Chabahar.

2) Indians dont 'run' Chabahar. They have been leased operations at Shahid Beheshti port for 18 months.
