India takes over operations of Iran’s strategic Chabahar Port

The road from Chah Bahar, Iran terminates in South Western Afghanistan which is 'Taliban country' centred around Helmand province with Kandahar being the spiritual home of the Talibs. The region is vast and much of it not in control of Kabul. Exactly how Indian trucks are going to thread their way through Taliban held areas should be interesting. Much work for ISI I guess. Duckshoot comes to mind. Map below. Coloured areas are either Talib or contested regions of Afghanistan.

Those bloody Taliban party poopers.:p:

Somewhat amused. If this is true, no wonder why Pakistan and Pakistanis may dislike Iranian government for being with India.

But then again, CPEC has more potential than this little Chahbahar port.

. . . .
You are comparing winter conditions in Canada, a country located near the equator and with arguably the harshest winter weather, with Pakistan? I seriously have to question if you understand basic science.
Ummm.... Canada is not near equator. I guess before questioning my science, please correct you basic geographic facts.

And yes, world highest crossing will have really cold winter. Cold enough to freeze water and not to mention higher altitudes also have faster winds. BTW, have you heard of Mt. Kilimanjaro? Its dead on equator and is covered with snow year round for a reason. I will leave the reason as an exercise to you.

As for your question, yes the highway network operates year round. I have myself travelled during winter without any issues.

I can certainly believe that you would have travelled during winters. For light vehicles like car or SUVs the Pass remains open till beginning or may be mid of December.

Unless you claim your choice of vehicle was a container truck for some odd reason.

And Iranians are not amused that Pakistani govt and military allowed GCC proxy groups operate out of Pakistani Balochistan attack Iran. Tbh, There is obivously a China-Pakistani leaning between Iran and Pakistan, so an India-Iran axis is a balancer to the China-Pakistan team. Its only fair. CPEC is obviously superior economically to Chabahar(for now), but strategically Chabahar is a regional game changer. Iran is holding a great alternative to Afghanistan economically. Its as if Pakistan controlled Afghanistan's destiny from 2001-(2010-2014) and these days Iran has taken more charge of international/ international linked economic activities in Afghanistan. Iran HAS to allow a big global player "play" with Iran. Pakistan got CPEC, GCC countries have bought western/US top notch equipment, Iran also needs to have more serious business/strategic relationship with at least 1 big global player.

But then again, CPEC has more potential than this little Chahbahar port.
Yes, economically, for now. What i advise you is to watch the Iranians and compete in Afghanistan on the same terms and needs of Afghanistan

CPEC is not exactly one road and port. It is a much bigger project.

That said, Chinese project while shoddily executed in engineering terms are an un-planned and un-mitigated disasters in terms of long term thinking. Sri-Lankan port, Airport, African investments and their own ghost towns come to mind.

China basically is trying to grow its influence..; actually its not even China. Its Xi-DingDong's own prestige. Its a top-down planning. No wonder it blunders on the simplest things.

Finally we can say that we have true Ally in the Middle East.

i want to see Vikramaditya in Chahbhar one day, we also need to reserve some space of the port for permanent navy base to protect our Interest.

Dont take that road too far. Believe me, you don't want a military presence anywhere near Iran. These things go too ugly too fast.

Relax. A typo doesn't mean you actually have a point. Canada is still located near the pole and has some of the harshest winter climate conditions on the planet. To compare Canadian winters with Pakistan is utter stupidity. No amount of verbal gymnastics will change that.

Irrelevant.

Closure of Khunjerab Pass doesn't impact trade with Afghanistan. And you don't need to "believe" me, the videos I linked clearly show trucks humming all along the highway network in winter.

Its not Pakistani winters I am comparing it with.

Again, its not trade with Afghanistan that I am talking about.

Now its my turn to suggest you to relax and re-read this discussion. You certainly having a decent grasp at English comprehension and can do better than what you are doing right now.
