I guess I would have to defer to you, given the experience you have with close to 30 million that died of starvation.

Corruption is eating all our resources....most of the problems are at state level. they do not participate actively to resolve issues. I don't know what BIMARU states are doing in this aspects especially Biju patnaik in orissa.

1. UP registered growth rate of 7.28% against the target of 6.10%. Uttar Pradesh attains a 8.08% GDP growth rate in year of 2010-2011.

2. Bihar grew by 11.03%, next only to Gujarat - Times Of India

Starves people to death- As in a purposeful act. As in how china has labor camps that force people to work in in-humane conditions mandated by your government .

I don't know a lot about India but I doubt they ever had a government that actively had laws, like china did in 1958, to force stravation upon it's citizens.

India really need a very strong policy(corruption less off course) to solve this problem.. food is first basic need in human life..
