India still clueless about trigger behind Chinese incursion

Western media is more interested in Chinese bullying than the truth. They will paint China as a new Nazi regime of Asia and will find excuses to meddle in Asia.

Speculation with out proofs is next to nothing.

The West doesn't care.

The standoff in Ladakh was almost completely ignored by the international media.

They wrote a few token articles but none of them made the front page or even the front page of the Asia section. The only media that went crazy over this issue was India's own domestic media.

Then list out the concessions here with proofs, do not speculate with your wild imaginations.

You wanted concessions on the border and will be kept on back foot during the visit

Your regime has admitted to retreating from your own territory and all infrastructure was stopped. That's why we left. World media is reporting India conceded and Indian media propaganda are saying India 'won' to keep the ignorant Indian population satisfied for regime survival of the Gandhi dictatorship.

It is India's issue so more publicity. Look at Japanese media and their articles about this incident.

B.S ..... came with a banner claiming the territory went back when they realized their mistake. Two can play the game of bullying.

Did even one single Government in the world make an official statement supporting India in the Ladakh stand-off?

No? I didn't think so.

Their media doesn't care, their governments don't care. They didn't even bother to make a statement, and you know how governments love to make statements.

They were waiting for a shooting war to erupt. But India was smart enough to try the forward policy again this time. They have learned from their mistakes.

Because the issue is a minor incident and Indian media only wanted to show the Chinese intentions to the public. This is democracy and GOI is answerable to the people if we go for any confrontation with China, so these things needs to be explained in a right way.

India do not need any support for countering Chinese bullying we can do it on our own.

Indian govt has kept the media and the Indian people in dark as to what concessions were given to PRC, you talk about free press??

US supports peaceful resolution of China-India boundary dispute - Times Of India

Anyway, India doesn't want mediators in its bilateral disputes ... so, nobody outsider is welcome to poke its nose.

Why should we need "western" governments to poke their nose in our issues.

---

Western media was naturally wasn't interested because it was only a tent.

India govt didn't mobilise even a single soldier.. that made the story particularly uninteresting and showed nil chance of a "tent" causing a serious conflict.

Even the likes of "HongWu" were taken aback by the mature response of the Indian govt.

The peaceful withdrawal of chinese, was more a result of mature handling by Indian govt than anything else.

Indian govt has kept the media and the Indian people in dark as to what concessions were given to PRC, you talk about free press??

The concession was that Li Keqiang is seen in Delhi today.

Hardly a concession !!

They were rouge pro Pakistan unit of PLA who were telling their so called political masters in Beijing not to be friend with India as new leader showed more pragmatic approach; planed visit to India as his first foreign tour.

What is not clear in it ?

Chamur was a face saving exist which India gave them after having a good laugh at them on 4th flag meeting backed by more aggressive military posturing than what that rouge PLA unit did.

Since they were checkmated diplomatically, militarily and by propaganda in detail, they saw war coming. It was inevitable that they will go back.

India avoided to have another branded enemy in its neighborhood and its fare enough by all standards of military calculus of this region given Indian is more busy in curbing asymmetrical war thrust upon us by non state actors (no pun intended) from Pakistan.

These articles are now next wave of propaganda to sow more seeds of discord between PLA and Politburo showing intentional confusion on what actually went wrong near LAC.

.
^^^^^ Are you sure there may appear a military coup in China? Any source?

I don't think the Indians are clueless. They are just thick-skin.
I knew they were fuked, but keep a happy face. They are just that kind of people.

India Destroyed Bunkers In Chumar To Resolve Ladakh Row: Indian Army on The Indian Economy

India Destroyed Bunkers In Chumar To Resolve Ladakh Row: Indian Army

India has agreed to a Chinese demand to demolish bunkers near their de facto border in the Himalayas, Indian military officers said, as part of a deal to end a stand-off that threatened to scupper slowly improving relations.

Indian and Chinese soldiers faced off 100 metres (330 feet) apart on a plateau near the Karakoram mountain range, where they fought a war 50 years ago, for three weeks until they reached a deal on Sunday for both sides to withdrew.

The tension had threatened to overshadow a visit by foreign minister to Beijing on May 9. China's Premier Li Keqiang is expected to visit India later this month.

Details of the deal have not been made public but a senior officer from the Indian Army's northern command said India had agreed to abandon and destroy bunkers in the Chumar sector, further south along the disputed border.

"The bunkers in Chumar were dismantled after we acceded to Chinese demand in the last flag meeting. These bunkers were live-in bunkers," the Army officer told Reuters on Tuesday.

India said up to 50 Chinese soldiers intruded into its territory on the western rim of the Himalayas on April 15. Some Indian officials and experts believed the incursion signalled Chinese concern about increased Indian activity in the area.

India said the Chinese soldiers were 19 km (12 miles) beyond the point it understands to be the border in the Ladakh region of Kashmir, a vaguely defined line called the line of actual control, which neither side agrees on.

China denied it had crossed into Indian territory. China won the border war they fought in 1962, which soured relations for decades, but ties between the Asian giants have been improving in recent years. China is India's top trade partner.

India has been beefing up its military presence for several years on the remote Ladakh plateau, building roads and runways to catch up with Chinese development across the border in a disputed area known as Aksai Chin.

The decision to agree to the Chinese demand and demolish the bunkers followed heavy criticism of the government over its handling of the incident by the opposition.

The Indian officer said earlier that Chinese officers demanded that India stop construction of bunkers, tunnels and huts along the line of actual control, as the vaguely defined border in place since the 1962 war is known.

They also objected to nomads crossing from India to grazing meadows on the Chinese side, the Indian Army officer said.

An official in defence ministry said on Monday the deal to end the standoff as a "quid pro quo" and said China had also demanded India take down listening and observation posts in the Chumar area, which is close to a Chinese road through Tibet.

It was not clear if India was dismantling those posts.

You can use all the face-saving terms you need, like "tin sheds" (read the Reuters report to see otherwise).

India built bunkers, we set up tents. India had no choice but to take down the bunkers in question.

India also granted several further concessions, read below:

Chinese army intensifies presence in Ladakh - Hindustan Times

I believe thats true n that was the sole reason why Chinese pulled out that stunt.

But the Indian media over played it too much n now there is big dent in China's image in India.

So, yes China got what it wanted but it caused more damage to Chinese image than anything else. Indian people r emotional they aren't gonna forget it anytime soon. Plus the trust deficit between the armies on both sides has hit a new hight.

All in all though China might have been successful in removing a few bunkers but it still lost much more IMO...
