I think you are talking about the Sidhis. They are in India as well, mostly in Kutch, Gujrat. But didn't they arrive like a thousand years ago? How can you include them? Why not go back a few thousand years more and include the Aryans as well?

what to say..............i am from assam.....the most happening hub of immigrant bangladeshis........in guwahati(capital) city they r everywhere to see....what can we do?

there language is similar to indigenous people in char areas(near brahmaputra riverbank) n some other areas like dhuburi district....before(when i was in school) i thought,every person wearing a lungi n has beard n talking this language (siletia)is a bangladeshi,i almost hated them......but now i know that all of them r not bangladeshi since i have friends studying with me who talk in this language.....but then there r lakhs of bangladeshis in assam who migrated n r still coming to assam since 1971,its seems its the price we have to pay for helping them to get independece.........they r poor people who come mostly in search of living but then ...most of the thiefs n dacoits caught in guwahati r bangladeshis(they have no identification n other documents r fake)..they r involved in a no. of illegal activities like smuggling ,drugs hustling,prostitution etc........
but then again what to do????after vising this forum,i started to feel that assam state govt. n pakistan govt. have many similarities....both r extremely incompetent n the politicians in both r mostly criminals n care only for money n power,they have no love for there motherland,there children live in USA or canada.....national congress party(ruling regional party of assam) uses these bangladeshis as vote banks.they r reluctant to deport them......one incident comes into mind,some years ago few hundred illegal bagladeshis were caught in arunachal pradesh by local people who handed them over to police.....arunachal pradesh state govt. sent them on trucks to assam so that they can be deported...but alas our chief minister found only 4 bangladeshis n others were left to roam freely in assam......if to take harsh steps then some regional parties or students unions will start a big hue n cry to gain political advantage......

Here we go another ignorant soul. over 31% population of Assam is Muslim Bengali and if we could include Hindu Bengalis then it must be over 50% of the population who bears the gene of Bengali. Am I missing anything here?

Now, an Assamese claiming that he knew everybody who looks different than him are hated illegal Bangladeshi before he met his fortunate friend. A person who even does not know 50% of his population claimed to be an inhabitant of that State. Now who should I consider a illegal immigrant. Him or the rest of 50% people???

PS: He could not even spell Sylheti.. Sylheti is a Bengali dialect and not considered as Bengali before 20th century is a indegeneous Assamese language similar to Bengali. I speak sylheti and it has its own script. After the inclusion of Sylhet with the erstwhile E. Pakistan, the script was abandoned and Sylheti language is included in Bengali as a dialect of Bengali language. Majority of the area where Sylhety were spoken remained in India and to this day only 25 lac people speaks to different version of Sylheti in Bangladesh.

To reply to some of the Pakistanis who have questioned the rational of immigrating to India, I would like to bring some points that are verifiable and true. The unemployment in Bangladesh is very high when compared to India and India is providing a larger social net that guarantees 100 days of rural employment. India also provides ration and fuel(kerosene) at a highly subsidised price. LPG is subsidised and so are many of the life saving drugs.

For a day wage labourer in Bangladesh who is economically backward, it makes sense to migrate to a country which has a variety of opportunity and guarantee of 100 days of labour. A friend of mine in Ahmadpur has hired a cook who initially claimed he was from a village near Calcutta but later confessed that he was from BD.

The UID project headed by Nandan Neelekani (Former Infosys chief) plans to solve this very problem. In an ambitious project aimed at improving the public delivery system as well as unifying several identification documents, the GoI has come up with an aim to uniquely identify each citizen of India. This is going to take a few years to take effect but once this comes into force, illegal immigration will be easily identifiable and the funds spent on deporting illegal immigrants will be simple.

To all those who think that immigration from BD to India is a joke, please think again. One of the driving and motivating reasons for starting the UID project is to stop the influx of illegal immigrants. If this forum is just another place to prove everyone who think different from you to be wrong then please think again. I can provide you enough information that elaborates the social and economic pressure India is facing due to significant influx of migrants especially from Bangladesh. If you disagree with any thing I have said, feel free to raise your concerns and I am more than willing to have a rational debate.

You are misinformed.
Unemployment rate in BD is lowest in south asia and one of the lowest in the world.
100 days of guaranteed employment program is in place in Bangladesh as well.
We dont provide ration here but 80% of our development budget goes to rural development to create employment. Its hard to find any roads in the villages which were not paved. Health, education is free here, community clinic for every 6000 people.

Why Indians are leaving their own country filled with Milk and Honey?

You can find few Indians here and there in BD as well, that does not make us next to USA.

Cool.. but we got it done while you are still pondering. Every proud citizen always carry their National ID card.
Ohh by the way, the BD company made the biometric fingerprint algorithm for this project got the highest precission and FBI and many law enforciing agencies around the world already bought the right to use that in their own finger print identification system.

Even 'kolkataiya bangla' is not homogeneous and it differs from North Kolkata to South Kolkata.

If anything we Kolkatans are probably the proudest Bengali sect (if speaking this particular dialect qualifies one to be a sect), so much so that our pride borderlines on snobbery. Expecting a Bangladeshi to understand the nuances of 'kolkataiya bangla' is like expecting a hippo to fly.

Every sweepers, clovers and tea garden workers in BD are bharati origin non musllim.

So if we are really in hell shape than should we have fill these jobs with our own citizen instead of recruiting them from under develop eastern bharati states.

Nonetheless if you have illegal imigrant from BD than you are welcome to sent them back with proper documents because we ain't going to take your word for it.
