The news talks about the growth rate, and not the number of vehicles produced.

And before you blindly put another figure in reply to this post, remember the news talks about the June Quarter of '11.

Remember the keyword: Growth Rate!

I highly doubt India is even #1 for growth. It's probably something like Slovakia which is growing at over 20%. Fail.

I think the link is pretty self-explanatory. It gives new car registration for each month for the Slovak Republic down to the brand of car. Their auto sales are growing at over 20% per year. I'm sure there's also a Swaziland example too where the king just bought 100 Rolls-Royce or whatever, doubling auto sales.
