I believe domestic enrichment by Iran in the long term is not something that is opposed, provided Iran becomes more transparent about its nuclear program.

The problem is that Iran is not transparent, and wants to continue enriching Uranium, and therefore there is a concern that the lack of transparency is due to a parallel nuclear weapons program.

Good move by India. Every country has the rights to research on this field, if they don't go for nuke. US is not the guardian of the world, they must understand this. And some countries like India, Russia, Iran will not always listen to them if their own interests are not served.

But of-course India will not like to see another nuke armed country near to her.

India has never opposed any nation's nuclear programmes including Pakistan. Further we were the one who walked extra mile to sign a treaty with Pakistan not to attack civilian nuclear installations thus recognising Pakistan as nation with nuclear program in 80s.

Many Pakistani think tanks here are trying to ex foliate its negative implications on India Israel relationship intentionally but India and has always (officially) maintained that Only few bully nations do not have any ethereal authority to possess Nuclear technology. FM Krishna has only repeated the same with nothing new to check mate China or Pakistan.

We have always took NTP and CTBT regime's pressures head on not like Pakistan who has always hide behind and vows to follow the Indian suite from test to would be signing.
