Security was so inadequate, it was jaw dropping. Even the bus wasnt bullet proof.. THe road wasnt coordoned off before the arrival of the team. I am shocked to see that despite assuring the safety of Sri Lanka's, despite knowing the susceptible threat, despite knowing the city being a major base for militants. Still not even a single comando was on that bus.
The entire world is numb at the gaping hole in the security of those who were "assured" security. Pakistan has needs a serious food for thought. This is the poorest performance of a security agency in the world.

^^ How can one forget what your countrymen did in Mumbai fidayeen attacks, eventually they met their fate of getting killed like dogs, not even a place for them to bury. The point is we caught one and executed the others, but in this case none of the attackers were caught and all have already escaped and killed 7 policemen and targetted high profile targets in a day light.

The difference is, the mumbai attackers were fidayeen (they came to die instead of hit and run) while in the case of SL team attack it was a hit and run case. I hope you can discern the difference.

alas we could not captured or killed even one of them
we claim that ISI our great agency one of the best agencies of world however it could not stop this act.
we promissed them to give fool proof security as "head of states" have but ......
there was no bullet proof bus....
the traffic was not stopped for cheking and even there was no check post....
the attackers were in the city whole the day (may be present now) and the police and intelligence agencies were in action but no result.............


there are some things which cant be answered by the govt
so it was a great security and intelligence faliure

however how can we justify that the security was best


whatever Pakistan will have to suffer a great hardship for this
if RAW is envolved in this then it will be very difficult for us to prove becoz no one was captured ............

I admit that there was a security lapse.
Naturally, we are angry and we may not be in ideal position to carry out healthy debate, but still I see Pakistani members had been very rational in their response, while Indians attitude (generally) had been very indecent and extraordinarily provocative.
It would not be wrong if may say Indians are not only pounding at their max, further more they were very fast in pointing on at our lapse.
As I said at the moment we are in shock and still in the process of collecting our self, so it is perfectly natural that we may overlook the hints.
Now as we know security was planned by police and which is organized by a govt. loyal to India and reciprocatory compliments from Indian govt. are well-known. Even in this case Pakistani President have not objected to blitzing Indian remarks and I hope, that even in future our present govt. will not disappoint Indians and continue to display perfect harmony with india govt.
I hope I may be able to connect many more things in following days.

If the line of inquiry that is looking at a written warning of this specific incident was passed through Pakistani security channels 5 weeks ago bears fruit, then the security lapse will be absolute.

Surface reports on potential detainees will have been acquired from that trail.

The mumbai attack was a prelude to what's to come in future, and today's attack is just the beginning. I suspect more will follow. The only logical solution is better security and cracking down on these terrorist and terrorist camps that train these animals.

I think India should mind its own business as it has utterly failed to provide security to its citizens and like I said before they need to clean thier own house before barking at others anyway this latest carnage needs to be blamed on PPP government for failing to provide foolproof security and creating political instablity just when Pakistan needed much political stability and to get things going in right direction. On another note, like Neo stated in the 3/3 Lahore attack thread, I too am sad, my father has been sad the whole day and pretty quiet, it hurts him too, it hurts me, it hurts every sensible Pakistani and cricket fan in the world, this was not simply an attack on Lankan players, this was also an attack on Pakistan's economy and stability, an attack on our people, this attack was clearly aimed at trying to destabalize us and bring a bad name and destroy all hopes of future tours and cricket matches inside Pakistan which further puts us in a tight corner.
This is disgusting, my heart goes out to those policemen who gave their life to protect the Lankan players and to make sure none of them got killed so that even worse or more bad news and images from Pakistan were spared.
May Allah grant them eternal peace and joy in the afterlife, Ameen.

Also, I couldn't care less about these Indian statements, yes I know they will be pointing fingers at us and say "See, we told you so", but hey, I don't care nor do I mind, the most important thing right now is that the situation is looked at and that the Pakistani people wake up and act against the COWARDS, the KUTTES, the...., well I can call them everything right now because i'm so angered by this whole situation, but the Pakistani people in general must be more aware and start to push AGAINST this extremist ideology.

This attack was well planned, but from what I heard on news and from the footages i've seen, I cannot believe how these men jumped out of the bushes and assaulted the police cars and the lankan bus itself.
In my eyes, security was inadequate, and the life of these Pakistani officers could've been spare if there was better and more solid protection aswell as intelligence gathering by the people who go after the safety of these cricket players and the whole tour itself.
I also heard and read that the officials were warned by individuals that such an attack was going to take place one day before this happened, now I wonder, why wasn't it prevented then..?
Who failed in this area? What's going to happen now, what conclusions can we make and how much will this effect our nation which already has a hard time in the international community to try and prove it's stability and it's will to fight against these extremists.

I have bad hopes, it hurts so much to see this attack on every newspaper wit BOLD headlines, it hurts to see every newschannel talking about it and talking about the consequenses for Pakistan and the future prospects regarding cricket in Pakistan which isn't so bright at all.
All the negative media attention and hype around Pakistan right now regarding this is really bad, this attack couldn't have happened at a worser moment, not right now, this is very bad timing, and I pray to Allah (the most gracious, most merciful) that we will hopefully once again recover from this blow which has been dealt to our nation as a whole, may Allah (swt) decide on the faith of these men who carried out the attacks with the clear intentions of killing and causing chaos and destruction.

Did our government fail? I read that security during Musharraf's era was much better especially during these events, is it typical?
Is it so typical to hear people talking about Musharraf's era all the time where things were much better in terms of almost EVERYTHING.
Anyways, i'm not gonna start on that subject, we have to be realistic and support our current government which has a real hard task on it's hands, especially now when Pakistan seems to be on a crossroad towards victory or defeat.

May Allah (swt) show us the right path and may he protect our people, our police officers, our men, women and our children from this evil menace.

The whole incident is unfortunate to say the least. Its unfortunate that :

1. Having a match played on Pak soil became an issue which put all other considerations on the back burner.
2. None of the culprits were caught or killed. One hopes that they will be apprehended soon.
3. Politics took precedence over security.
4. Both GOP & the SL govt mis read the possibilities.
5. It appears that the local police ( as most police forces do in S Asia) took the subject lightly. Jus coz something did not happen yesterday does not mean it wont happen today.

We ALL have to learn lessons from Mumbai & Lahore & realise the we ALL are losers in this quagmire our region is slipping into.

We have to stop gloating at each others discomfiture & scoring brownie points. Today India , SL, Pak & BD are all in distress. The degrees may vary but the symptoms are evident.

When will this end & how ?
