India signs deal for Harpoon Block II missiles with US

Guys, before we start the bashing,please note a few points.

1. These have been ordered for jaguar-IM version optimised for sea strike. These crafts operate with IAF not IN.

2. They are currently operating "sea eagle" missiles who are like A. K. Hungal of AShM. Dire need to replace them.

3. Jaguars cannot carry brahmos, so it is out of question.

4. Harpoon block 2 ,while not as lethal as brahmos is certainly not a slouch.

Now, take a relook at this whole news, what do you think?

What advantage does this have over Brahmos???? Anyone,. I dont see any Advantage.... Can Anyone enlighten me a Bit?

But, some extra money and could have Got Mig 29's Upgraded, Mig29's could surely carry Brahmos if Upgraded like the Su-30... Cant they???

Harpoon Bl2 will be a good missile for Jaguars. looking at the jaguars strength it doesnt look like it will have exceed 1000 missiles as Russians wont allow US missiles to be carried by the Sukhois.
