During the last financial year, the Port had achieved 13.17 per cent growth and crossed the Ministry of Shipping’s target of 32 million tonnes by handling 32.41 million tonnes. This achievement was possible due to cost effective service offered by the Port and conducive working atmosphere prevailing here.

Further, the Chairman appreciated the commitment, hard work and dedicated efforts of the officers and other staff of the Port, terminal operators and all stake holders for achieving such significant growth in volumes which is in line with the Port’s vision to become a pioneer in providing quality and efficient cargo handling facility in South India, the statement also added.
